If (and it feels like a massive if) this is just a power play, and he comes out with a better contract and a few new players, then I'd have to applaud him for having huge brass balls because it's some Sun Tzu shit
When I woke up this morning I would have never guessed I’d be reading comparisons between Alex Neil and Sun Tzu by the afternoon

the club must know its going to get absolutely slaughtered for this

Tbf mate, they were hardly arsed with the ticketing/club shop farce were they?

I hate to say this but the club might even see it as a bit of a win. Say £100k compensation and then appoint Dyche who would cost nothing

This

How can you expect players to commit to the club when the manager isnt commited.

Im not panicking yet as well hear from horses mouth at 2pm. But if he travels to Stoke for talks we need to sack him
Sack him even though we’ve given him permission to speak to them?

We also know that lots of folks will lose lots of money if AN does not go to Stoke.
And there is the Gambling industry/instant media bullshit nexus in a nutshell.
When people quote 'the odds' it seems like probability or prediction. It's nearer to Mystic Meg, but the one thing you can absolutely rely on is that the bookies will clean up.

The whole thing is an absolute shambles and detrimental to SAFC, but if AN is talking to Stoke today but doesn't get the job or he turns it down, how is he going to be received at the SOL tomorrow or whenever he's back at work? I just can't see there being much love for him from the fans in either event, so if he is talking to Stoke, he probably needs to go because the trust has been broken.
Not only that, the slightest run of defeats and people will be wanting him out. Has to go if he wants to have talks IMO

Wrong attitude completely, imo.

If he leaves us for Stoke - despite the relative size of each club’s potential (to us as outsiders) - then we should be asking what has gone wrong behind the scenes, for him to make that decision.
Yes but you don't want a bloke knowing he's walking into a new job taking charge of a huge game imo. I can't see the players buying into what he tells them IF thisbis the case.

He must be absolutely crazy to leave after bringing in his own players and getting the team playing well. If he goes I hope it goes tits up for him, he didn't seem that type of man to drop a club like a stone and for the sake of Stoke? Dear me. Team may suffer if they don't get behind the next manager, if he leaves that is, remains to be seen.
