AN Press conference - CANCELLED

You'd have to imagine with all the transfer bits flying off this morning that he's more likely involved in that - than having an interview with Stoke.
In fact, if the bookies (whose odds are calculated based off money from people who have no idea anyway) didn't have him as favourites would we all be pissing ourselves?

It’ll be a right kick in the balls but i genuinely trust the club to pick the right manager again. Speakman has already said in the past they’ll always have plans in place so they’ll have one now.

It’ll be shit yes, we all want him to stay and are starting to feel an affection toward him and I don’t see anyone out there available I’d rather want over him!

I’m not convinced dyche suits the team we have, he’s a very good manager who has done unbelievable with Burnley but it’s a matter of his style suiting our squad and I don’t see it.

We have to recognise this is purely a job to AN, he like his fellow Manager's and players have totally different emotions to us as supporters.

If someone was to offer you a 50% pay rise a 4 year contract with the opportunity of spending more time with your family at a decent club doing the same job, I defy anybody who would not give that some very serious thought.

Yes like many have said, I can’t see any footballing reason why he would swap us for Stoke, but as I say.

Personally I will be devastated if he was to leave.
This triple your coin, massive length contract in case it fans tits up club in the same division with similar aims, 20k extra fans is pretty much all that separates us in all honesty and players and managers no matter how much they go on about it don't really give a shit.

I have wondered about the relationship between KLD and AN ever since the playoff final.

I also get the feeling that benette and muchut are not the type of players Neil wants. We've seen last season that he'd much prefer to got with experience over youth.

Would be pure Sunderland to balls this up again. hope I'm working but its very worrying.
I think he felt he had to go with experience last season to get us up, also because our young players were knackered playing their first full season of professional football. I don't think it's a good indication of what he prefers generally.

Yeah but a well paid contract and with a few years on it would probably deter him from making the move to another team in the same division, I would hope anyways.

If a PL team came in for him I would agree with your sentiment.

Of course, but if it is money that's the issue, there would be nothing to stop us from matching any offers should we want to and would have benefitted a bit from not giving him it sooner.

If someone does well, it'll attract attention at some point, I just don't think the rolling contract is the issue some have suggested.

There's plenty more that separates us mind.

It's hardly 'noises' though, is it? That's a journalist generating clicks for an old opinion piece on the back of a bit of betting market spikes. Not really the best evidence for things going wrong behind the scenes:lol:

This is what happens on here. Stuff that hasn’t been said becomes fact. Nowhere have i suggested it’s all going wrong behind the scenes.

My initial post said it’s not ideal about the press conference delay given the noises (ie Neil’s comments Re transfers, the sharing of an article from Hunter who is hardly a clickbait reporter and Neil topping the bookies odds).

Let’s hope it is all to do with signings / outgoings. Even better would be a new contract to put this 12 month rolling contract issue to bed

Youd think they just get his assistant or a coach to do the bloody press conference even if he is going to stoke. Have they all gone on strike?

Nothing down our end at all. All of our local journo's have no real info on names, just that they think we are in for a quick appointment.
Dyche would make sense.

Not because I want to keep AN, although I do and don’t believe he’s going anyway. But because he is exactly the type of man you’d get behind.
