AN Press conference - CANCELLED

He should have been offered a 3 year deal after the playoffs.

In hindsight the club has sleepwalked into this situation for people to even be talking about him going to Stoke.

I'm not sure a contract of any length would be enough to quash the possibility of him moving clubs mind.

We have to recognise this is purely a job to AN, he like his fellow Manager's and players have totally different emotions to us as supporters.

If someone was to offer you a 50% pay rise a 4 year contract with the opportunity of spending more time with your family at a decent club doing the same job, I defy anybody who would not give that some very serious thought.

Yes like many have said, I can’t see any footballing reason why he would swap us for Stoke, but as I say.

Personally I will be devastated if he was to leave.

I have wondered about the relationship between KLD and AN ever since the playoff final.

I also get the feeling that benette and muchut are not the type of players Neil wants. We've seen last season that he'd much prefer to go with experience over youth.

Would be pure Sunderland to balls this up again. hope I'm working but its very worrying.

Yeah but a well paid contract and with a few years on it would probably deter him from making the move to another team in the same division, I would hope anyways.

If a PL team came in for him I would agree with your sentiment.

Their most successful period in recent times was based on a really sound back line and he's the man for that. Mind, so would Nekl be as it was the first thing he did here.
True, but why go and pay compensation when a perfect candidate, one who’s available, would cost nowt?

Tbh. IF, IF it ever happened, Dyche would be my first phone call as Speakman.

I’m not sure like. Probably one of the main reasons he’s heavily linked is because Stoke know compensation will be minimal.
