Wear-Tees Derby

See my previous post on here regarding my last visit to the Miners Arms in Eston to meet @macum1920 off here

if you recall the deathly quiet pub scene from American werewolf in london it was like that when I

staggered in mind not sure cause I was wearing a Sunderland top so @macum1920 woukd recognis me or the state I was in at 1300 😉
Luckily my local hasn’t got a jukebox to turn off when I walk in (Samual Smith pub) 🤣 but Easterside people in general have been fine up till now. Like I said though, the half a derby means far more to them than it does me, see what happens when I walk in if we beat them, although I’m not expecting a lynch mob on a Monday night

Wait till we stuff them on the 5th September marra

I certainly hope so marra, however it’ll be by far our hardest match up till that point. As already stated by others, they’ll be up for it far more than us, it’s their big derby man!!

think Sheffield United been our hardest match & performEd excellently despite getting beat From what I’ve seen of the mutants there poor at the moment if they don’t get the players in they want

we’ll turn them over easy

None of their players are from the area so won't be anymore up for it than ours

Think the supporters and just the club in general will let them know exactly what it means to them

Aye it was our hardest match so far but I personally think Boro will be when it comes round, think they’ll be up for it more than Sheff Utd were

They’ve Donald love
paddy McNair Duncan watmore that young bairn who scored for v Chelsea was on our books garner

they’ll be up for it
Still pissed ?
Donald Love isn't there and I'm sure they didn't score v Chelsea plus Garner is the young kid at Man Utd on loan at Forest last season I think.

There is no such thing as the "Wear-Tees derby". It's just another game.
Absolutely this all day long mate
Boro's most recent 6 match record against Sunderland is WWWWWD. Only a last-gasp 97th-minute injury-time goal by Sunderland prevented that record being 6 wins out of 6 for Boro.

Not that having such an impressive record against local rivals is anything to brag about ... unless you are a Sunderland supporter of course! ;)
Local ‘rivals’???? Boro are local, rivals? Christ no

Will there be 30,000 at the game I wonder ?
Capacity 34,742.
Less no man's lands to keep fans apart.
Surely it'll hit 30k ?

We've averaged 26,312 so far this season, so I'd say there's a decent chance of a 30,000 crowd at least.

We've made a poor start to the season, so a lot will depend on our next two results with regards to whether or not it's going to be a sell-out.

Win our next two and it should sell out.

The 34,742 capacity was before Boro played in the Premier League when ground modifications reduced it.

Capacity after segregation is circa 31,400.

Plenty of reasons not to hit 30,000. Monday night, live on TV, kids back at school, early season, expensive tickets, cost of living increases, Boro bang out of form, playing a team who have been in League One for 5 seasons and "just another game" for Boro fans (unlike Sunderland who will sell out their allocation with it being a big derby game for them).

26,200 sold in total to date.

Wow, never seen so many excuses in one post as to why a game may not sell out, “early season” being the best of them🤣🤣
