Pope has played well the last 2 games, didn't need a keeper against Forest. Pope has the advantage of having a reasonable defence in front of him. Pickford has his work cut out at Everton where survival is the target even at this stage. Patterson will keep getting better and be up there soon enough. The real losers in the goalkeeping stakes are Man Utd because De Gea is just a disaster and that's before this season's set of howlers. Pope is an improvement on Dubravka but how Man Utd missed out by not paying out some petty cash on Pope who was just up the road is beyond me.

As a Sunderland fan like myself , obviously I am don't care what anyone says.

Ask me any question about SAFC and I'll most likely know the answer to it .

But back to my question? Why can't you say a player who plays for the mags is good without been called a mag and get pelters for it ? Personally I think Allan Saint Maximin is a tremendous players, and Nick Pope is a very good goalkeeper .

? Any one grown up enough on here to understand there's nothing wrong with saying that? Probably not..

I personally just think it's very strange.

Cue the predictable boring mag crack responses....
He’s not though. Tremendous players impact games and win games on their own. He scored what? 3 goals last season? And has what? 11 since he’s been there. He’s pretty average tbh

Yes he was. Ask the fans who watched him week in week out.
You're being very foolish. It's quite sad tbh your team has just beat the champions 3-3 and you're on here acting like a bit of a wanker
He was shite. But cos he's from Sunderland he has your support

Never understood the hate Pickford gets. Pope is a good keeper. Very dependable and a good signing for Newcastle. Poor with his feet though.

The reason Pickford is #1 and deserves it is because he delivers in the big games. Did it for Everton at the back end of last season and has done for England plenty of times. Much better with his feet too.

For internationals I'd rather a player like Pickford who's been tried and tested at big competitions. Unless he has an absolute shambles in terms of form then the spot is his.
