Be very surprised if he isn't England's No1 for the World Cup . He is better than Jordan Pickford imho.
Can't believe they signed him for 10million, absolute steal.

Thoughts?
Good shot stopper but his distribution/kicking isn’t up to Pickford’s standards!

On another note Pickford has done nothing wrong for England and Southgate likes him!

pickford is englands number one as he is the best english keeper and also has a very good record for england. rarely puts a foot wrong, and has played blinders for england time and time again

however, the second he makes a mistake in an england game, the floodgates will open. comments like 'never good enough' 'always a mistake in him' 'too erratic' etc..

conveniently forgetting that every single goalkeeper that has ever played the game has made mistakes and had bad games. it won't matter, he'll be public enemy number one for a short while

he was arguably player of the tournament for england in both of the last 2 major tournamnets. was phenomenal at the world cup, and didn't concede a goal until the semi final at the euros, and saved 2 penna's in the final
He was also due to take the next penalty and I have no doubt he would have scored.

he'd have took the net clean off

i always get the feeling that on here, and in the media in general, there is a wave of negativity on hold but ready to crash down on Pickford at any given moment. everyone loves him when he's pulling off heroics for england, but the pressure on him must be massive. i know he is a bit of a character off the field, but emotions aside, he's been outstanding for England for a long time. the best, most consistent keeper since Seaman

Well done to the mags and enjoy your day.

I am guessing there is a dressing room photo to follow?

The quality from the bench was incredible. Definitely no need to make any more signings. Just as well Bruno was anon as that will put RM off.

Adios.

Decent keeper, solid if unspectacular. Pickford can be spectacular but also prone to a rick

can't remember him ever dropping a bollock for england?

he's made one or two major fuck ups for everton over the last few years, but in the same period, so has every other top class keeper. like the chelsea keeper today and the man city keeper the other week in the charity sheild

Based on one match?

He's always been decent, but he's 30, hence the fee. I can't see him becoming England's number one at this point.

I think he'll make the squad.

Pickford will be number one because on the big stage for England he's fantastic. He has wobbles for Everton but mentally for England he's been strong as fuck and none of the others have yet looked likely to take his place.

That's the thing - club level is different from international level and if any keeper was likely to take his place it would be Ramsdale.

Can't fault Pickfords performances at England level despite his form for Everton being a bit ropey at times. Unless he has a drastic drop off in form in the next three months he'll rightly be Engalnds No 1. That said, I think Pope is ahead of Ramsdale for No 2. I'm a mag btw.
