After losing 2-1 how are you able to say that? Fans seem more assured after losing than after a win these days. Defeats have replaced wins as the primary source of happiness and positivity it seems.

People would think we had won 2-1 if you read that and didn’t see the score.
Take Simms out of that team last night and it was all the players that were under Lee Johnson in League One and would of capitulated at 2-0, not this team, AN has got them in a totally different mindset, if you were at the game last night you would of seen the passion from us getting behind the team and felt the equaliser coming, unfortunately it didn’t but what we saw was a team down to 10 men going down fighting and that is all I ask, it was a tall order going there and getting anything but for the first time in a long while, we have a togetherness and an amazing never say die attitude thanks to AN.

Am I happy with a loss NO, am I happy with the display they showed at 2-0 down YES 100% we are building a team and a togetherness and it needs patience, we are going to have blips, they have a much superior team to us but did we roll over NO.

I think you need to take a chill pill and jump on the Bob Marley train and remember everything is gonna be alright ;)

OK then. Tell me how I do that. You think I enjoy seeing things from my perspective? It's horrible. I don't like it. But it is the way it is. And there can be no changing it. You are either born positive or born negative. Theirs not much we can do about it. It sucks. A lot. But once things are set in stone for us it's hard to change it. It's hard to get better.

You can change anything in life mate, but you have to want to do it, try pivoting when you feel negative, think of something that’s been a good memory in life and really focus on it, it helps trust me, I was diagnosed with PTSD after 26 years in the Army, I have been at the very bottom, there is always help to climb up, you just need to want to do it. Always here for a fellow lads fan if you need any advice 👊

The first nice thing that has ever been said to me. Have a like. I have always like you. You are the only one I can like on here. I don't like anyone else. Look at their posts when replying to me. I would do anything to avoid meeting them in real life if that is what they are like on here. Then I would have reason to be negative!

I undestand. It is going to be a long road but I want to do it. For me. Not for anyone else. And I want to succeed.

And that is the right attitude to succeed mate, don’t get embroiled with people on here, everyone has their own opinion, just accept it and don’t take things personally, if you don’t like what someone reply’s laugh it off, the more you bite the more attention you bring on yourself, I am not saying roll over but have a bit more consideration in your reply’s, read them back a couple of times before you hit the post button, you might find you change a few sentence's.

To be fair, with the first team out, we've only lost once in however many games and that was after going down to 10 men.evrn then we made them work hard for it. Enough evidence to be positive

Did you watch the game? And others this season?

We hope we’re ok. The main players will see us mid table but we’re so weak in strength in depth that a couple of injuries and suspensions will see us in a relegation dog fight.

Lose Saturday and we’re at a point a game which would be circa 6 points adrift of safety come the end of the season.
Would it? 4 of 5 of the most recent seasons 1 point per game or less has been enough to stop up. Sometimes less.

Now I’m not advocating running that risk but a point per game at this point isn’t concerning for me. Especially when most of the squad is adjusting to the league. Paired with the performances which have been largely positive.

Don’t jump in on shields black cat

there are reasons for the posting, let the lad have his say but don’t abuse him

Heard all this before however the same poster switches to being perfectly rational, and making perfectly valid points when not discussing SAFC.

He also states how shit we are when most are praising us. Then if the wind changes, and the board starts to get on the players back, he all of a sudden says we are brilliant. Just review a few of the match threads from this season it’s there in black and white.

That doesn’t point to someone with the problems you allude to, it points to a massive attention seeking wum.

I see what you are saying but I have had years of seeing us underperform and lose frequently. I am desperate for something to click. Something to happen whereby we are suddenly now able to outplay average teams and the good ones and win. I want that more than my next breath.

Unfortunately I did and I have. The only one that gave me true confidence and a sense we are back among the big boys and belong in this league and playing like we are in the Championship is the Bristol City game.

I am sure theirs stuff I can Google that teaches you through doing stuff to be more positive and optimistic.

I see. I’m so sorry I said all the vile things I said on the matchday thread. I take them all back. I see performances are valued above wins and points in Sunderland AFC. The result doesn’t matter to Sunderland supporters as much as the performances. Keep on playing like that and get the same result and everyone is happy. One bad performance and a win isn’t as good as a hundred good performances and no wins. Sunderland fans have always seen performances as more important than wins.
The most intelligent thing you’ve posted

Don’t we all mate, everyone on this board wants the same, however we are starting to gather pace now and the atmosphere last night at Bramall Lane was immense and a real togetherness, after all the mishaps with tickets and the club shop and years of mis management, surely you can start to see we are now going in the right direction and need to live and spend within our means as if we don’t we will end up back in League One, have patience mate and look forward not back, come back and quote me in 3 or 4 years time and see where we are with the current model ;)
