NUFC/Sportswashing - Summer 2022

What epitomizes them for me is the fact they turn up in Saudi attire to their games, simply breathtaking in their ignorance.

Good to see some Newcastle fans showing other Newcastle fans up . Oh and the @nufck9e5 account was created in October 2021 hmm wonder what else happened then.

What an absolute scum bag that last one is. And if Mick Martin is reading - are you telling me if it was your daughter you would consider the NUFC fan base powerless in this?

β€˜It’s not representative of the majority’ ? Like the mysterious 100,000 signed petition that no fan signed ????
Aye, it's funny how many mags claim that's it's just a handful of people who like the saudis and most of them find their atrocities appalling. Yet (bar a handful of people writing that anti-sportswashing fanzine and one bloke protesting at the Spurs match) there's no opposition to them at all. Meanwhile there's a never ending conveyor belt of them on here and other social media defending, deflecting and whatabouting all day every day. It's almost as if the fact that half the city signed a petition to get the evil bastards in is a good indicator that most of them couldn't give a fuck about how evil they are.

Just browsed his time line which is rather a sad read. Kid is out of work, has a family and on UC, tweets NUFC saying he wants to end his life but when people reach out he says it’s sorted (essentially his mate gave him some money) but he of courses has the third kit. He is also basically illiterate which I find very depressing.

β€˜The case also marks the latest example of how the crown prince has targeted Twitter users in his campaign of repression, while simultaneously controlling a major indirect stake in the US social media company through Saudi’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF).’

Anyone heard from Exile?

Also PIF nothing to do with the Saudi Government according to the experts in Byker and Benwell.
The crazy thing is the Prem League shamelessly came to same conclusion. As if the involvement of the Head of State was irrelevant to the investment vehicle.

The result of 13 years of Austerity, something the Tories were happy to let happen and something the Saudis are happy to exploit

Easy to forget the hugely important role the Reubens and Boris Johnson had in selling out NUFC (with the permission of 120k desperate fans)

Is there a coordinator of what aboutry for the loons. Have you noticed the monthly shift in game play. At first they were on the front foot, even attacking khashoggi’s fiancΓ© and what about Disney. Then for a short period they even said the bombs being dropped on Yemen were from Sunderland.

There were a few other versions of the whataboutry until they settled on, β€œyour argument is invalid because you never tweeted about human right before 2021”. This seemed to be the stock deflection tactic for a good few weeks. That is until this weeks deflection, that is very much on the defence. I’ve read β€œwe are just defending our right to support our club”, a few times this week.

None of them getting the irony of any deflection whatsoever is a tiny little victory for sports washing. The change from being on the front foot to the defensive nature of their shite is interesting.
