Ticket shambles today

I’m dreading this. Moved the bairns season ticket to the seat next to my brother after the renewals window this summer.

We weren’t there last week, but apparently the fella who sat next to my brother was there, and in the bairns new seat, and my brother saw him outside the ground today with a season card that didn’t seem to be working. I’ve now got the feeling this bloke still thinks this seat is his, and the bairns seat from last season has gone.

At one point they seemed to be saying that if you werent there' the first game they Ticketmaster sold your seat, as if that explains everything and is acceptable. Also didn't mention if that's reversible and didn't sound like they gave a shit either way.

But then people piped up who had been their last game anyway so they just went back to arguing

I know the statement on the SAFC website stated entry with Season Cards was being restricted in the South Stand to only those with cards for the South Stand. I didn't see anything mentioned that for the rest of the ground you can now only use the turn styles that are specifically printed on your season card.

I sit in the family zone and for years I've entered in the North Stand as they're are no queues and then walked along the side of the pitch as my daughter likes to watch the players warming up. Tried today and the cards wouldn't work and the Steward said you have to use the turn styles printed on the card. I was still there with enough time to queue and get in so no problems in the end.

Noticed a few people who had queued one door along and there's wouldn't work as that was classed as the East Stand and not the SEC.

I may be wrong but I'm sure this change wasn't specified in that press release on the website.
Cards for 2 blokes in front of us wouldn’t work for the East Stand. No idea what turnstile was on their cards but would suggest what you say is correct. May have contributed to the longish queues still outside at 5 to 3

I renewed ours during the early bird period, but once the seats went on general sale, looked in to see this seat was free, so emailed the club to swap the bairns seat. The seat the bairn had has gone now, so hope it’s just a massive coincidence and I don’t end up having aggro with some old bloke over whose seat this is.

On today's experience it's more likely the card won't work if it's double sold

Lad who i know, him and his mates had same seat in East stand for 25 yrs....went to his seat v Coventry...sits down n lass n few other came in and told him and mates to move as they were "sitting in their season ticket seats". They had double booked his and mates season tickets seats, took payments off them and new lass and mates to sit there. He had to move from his seat for 25yrs and let lass and mates sit there ..as that was there seats now. Now moved to north east corner. Absolute shambles.

Sounds like they've messed up the SEC. We went in the North Stand and have East Stand tickets like and it worked as usual.

With a season ticket in the south stand that worked last week, today it won't let me in so I'm told to go to turnstile 9-10. There is a bloke there letting people into the premier concourse in exchange for your season ticket. He had a plastic bag full of them.

They said my seat has been sold to someone else due to a duplicate ticket error on Ticketmaster and I need to queue at the ticket office before Norwich to get it sorted and get it back.

Just a heads up for anyone in the same boat. Even with the recent issues it is hard to believe how bad this stuff is at the minute.

I thought that was going to happen at the first game

It should have been obvious putting ticketmaster in charge would be a massive mistake, pe ny pinching by the club
Agree

And now think it is up to the various fans representative groups to INSIST on a full, open book inquiry into WTF is going on with ticket/season card sales

I have a good mate who is a very well qualified consumer lawyer ... only problem is he is also a Mag and would probably die laughing about this - but other lawyers are available and I suggest fans rep groups start discussing this issue with them

Enough is enough

IMHO 😂- it’s time for whoever is responsible for the decisions that have led to this utter mess when selling tickets to be given their P45 and then a new system put in place with enough staff to run it efficiently in-house (or if it can’t be run in-house with an agency on a very short leash with severe penalties for cock ups in the contract). Chancers like TM need hunting out of our club for good

that's shocking that like, how can they move the people who've been there for 25 years to let people who've just turned up have them seats?!

How is it even possible to double sell seats? Absolute shambles. Never see any apologies from the club it just always seems to be a non negotiable solution like moving someone out of their correct seat to somewhere they didnt ask to be
