Could anyone recommend books to read during November and December lay off?

Brittannia Unchained. Hopefully when all the lefty wokeys are shut up and free speech is allowed this will be taught in every school

Nadine dorries recommends this and that’s at least worth 96% of the silent majority out there

Well to tell the truth, I suspect it's not my kinda book. Is the foreward by Liz Truss?

I read Les Miserables in 2 years - but I'm busy.
A mixture of books I recommend to friends and good reads in the past couple of years.

Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole
Four Letters of Love by Niall Williams
Good Morning, Midnight by Jean Rhys
Pure by Andrew Miller
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons
Coming Up For Air by George Orwell
Swing Hammer Swing by Jeff Torrington

If you like old thrillers I have read a couple of 1960s ones by Alan Williams,  Barbouze, and The Tale of the Lazy Dog that are good. If you haven't read Eric Ambler try The Mask of Dimitrios.

Shit, I have rambled.

I don't think there's a book by George Orwell I haven't read - but the rest I shall investigate.

Not sure if this is a serious request but my most recent purchases were:

'The names heard long ago - how the golden age of Hungarian football shaped the modern game' by Jonathan Wilson

and

'Das Reboot - How German football reinvented itself and conquered the world' by Raphael Honigstein.

I like Johnathan Wilson - he has to be the most knowledgeable person on Football.

Both of them are participants in the Guardian podcasts.

Building The Yellow Wall - History of Borussia Dortmund.
Frying Pan of Spain - Betis v Sevilla.
Zonal Marking

Very good book that.

Angels with Dirty Faces
Kaiser!
Provided you don't kiss me
Nobody ever says thank you
Behind the curtain
Calcio
The far corner
Fear and loathing in La Liga.

Just a few of mine, I'm awaiting The ball is round to be delivered as well. Few beers in the garden with a good footy book is class when the weather is like this!
