The Premier League were widely criticised for permitting the Saudi takeover of Newcastle despite acting on the strong advice of the government.

Surprised the mags aren’t wearing Boris masks.
Aye it was corrupt when the sale hadn’t gone through…..now it has they’ve gone notably quiet, even though there was involvement from Boris Johnson and their co owner the Rubén’s who incidentally are Tory party donors

Now this….very murky

I guess corruption is subjective?

So do you think if, for instance, Ellis Short had an offer accepted you would have had 100 thousand people signing petitions and running round draped in American flags?

No, he was a known failure. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. But I do know fans that were keen on others. Kenyon etc, there was an American I forget the name of which seemed extremely dodgy to me, only one photograph exists of him apparently so likely a front. I'd have expected celebrations there but no dressing up.

To be honest I think the tea towel caper was because they were easy to get hold of for sad sacks who think they're being funny. Highly embarrassing

I preferred Chopra’s mates who had a registered office above a laundrette and had photoshopped pictures with Obama.

How does this work then ? Conflict of interest surely?? Apologies if its already been discussed I tend not to bother with mag threads much.

Boris should expect another signed petition on his desk in the coming days demanding he intervenes and asks the Saudi government to sign some geet good playas
Make them do it, it's affecting wu mental health!
I love the way that every time they have a drop in crowds it’s always a “protest”. Not because they can’t be arsed watching them anymore.
Protesting against them not winning the league

Even Eddie Howe taking the piss out of the mags, decent finish to the end of the season and demands more money and a new contract yet the idiots think it’s because he loves the club and wants to stay longer

I think giving Eddie Howe a longer deal is a good thing for them. I would like to see us do the same thing with Alex.

Give the bloke time to shape the squad as he sees fit and not sack him if we get a run of bad results.

They invest a little bit in everything so they cannot be held account for anything.

Throws up so many issues.
Will Chelsea do more business with Newcastle compared other clubs after a little word from above?

Will Chelsea start to abstain from or back Man City and Newcastle's stances on votes as they come up at Premier League Chief Executive level, up to now Man City and Newcastle have been out on a limb on many issues.
