The Hundred 2022 Match Thread

Whats the split of positive and negative comments across the 11 pages of each thread........??

What’s the positive and negative split amongst a bunch of middle aged blokes who (in the main) already have access to cricket via Sky Sports, is what you’re really asking.

Survey some ten year old kids, cos that’s the relevant barometer.

Hardly doing anything wrong. You’d think he’d signed for the Mags the way you’re going on.
Not saying he's doing anything wrong at all but being the greatest fast bowler in history, surely he's got better offers than lowering himself with this sh*te........????

No shit. That’s why it won’t work then 🤷‍♂️
It’s a difficult one though, every other year they will be a major international football tournament on June/July where young kids will be watching, so overlap if played then.

So the school holidays end of July to August football season normally starts mid August is probably best time to play when kids of school and able to attend night matches of the hundred.

Personally I think soo.

its not helping England cricket though as no other nation has adopted it, so we maybe good at the 100 but it will prove nowt on the world stage

Yet.

T20 started off as new format, UK only, loads of people twisting, then it took off worldwide.

Sorry mate, I forgot this was being broadcast on CBeebies......

Back end of April, until mid June cc games, mid June to mid July, t20 or 16.4 with a final on July 20th or so, to miss any football season

mid July to september cc., England play tests and t20s and bin 50 over internationals like stokes has done. I can see it happening world wide eventually as well

sorted . Send me a cheque please FTECB

You get my point. And I don’t entirely disagree with your dislike of it tbf, I do prefer the Blast cos I support Durham, it has heritage and the format is less gimmicky. But am open minded to the overall benefits of this (cos I think there are some).

I reckon this will further boost the surge in kids cricket, which is great.

I do get your point mate and totally agree with getting more kids into the game but this just isn't the right way to go about it, it's cringeworthy and the format and graphics are horrendous........

It probably is for the normal cricket supporter and what they used to

But they designed for kids and new people guess that’s the reason and point

But that’s what appeals, you only have to look at what video games and youtube videos are doing.

Crowds seemed to love last year’s competition so I’m unsure as to why you think it isn’t the way.

Yeah you're probably right mate, I just like watching a game of cricket on the tele with a couple of cans but this isn't enjoyable........

And yes you're right before you say, I should switch the f*cker off but it's still cricket so I'll persist with it........😅😅🍻🍻

Give it a couple of years you’ll be supping cans with your Northern Superchargers t shirt and baseball cap on ;)

Not really. When you have a loyal and huge fanbase in a sport already, what’s the best way to grow the game? Well, admittedly I don’t have all the answers, but I know for a certain fact what definitely is NOT an answer - alienate your already huge and loyal fanbase.

It’s possible to be flexible year by year 🤷‍♂️

If kids have no interest in The Blast why will they have any in The Hundred? That’s what confuses me most.

Cos one’s on the telly and the other isn’t. And yes, I know that The Blast could be on Tv in theory.

But it isn’t, and therefore the 100, in time, will be more successful imo.

T20 is for piss ups
The Hundred is for family
Not even close.

Many fans watch t20 are families see it loads at Durham games

Also you see people on the piss at the 100

It’s been pushed and no one really wants it. I won’t be travelling to Yorkshire to watch a team that has nowt to do with us.

It’s being pushed and prodded and isn’t doing great. Seen many games with empty seats more than you would at a t20
