Let's be honest he could have said anything and you wouldn't have been happy
I attended last week because I wanted to hear someone speak passionately, speak about future plans, speak about what he thinks went wrong, critique himself, what could he have done better, maybe hear him say "well hindsight i should have given the younger players more of a chance in the T20"............... to say "we picked the best team" when we won 3 in 14 was just ludicrous and numerous people at the forum commented on this as well as on here after the event at how uncomfortable and all round hopeless he was that night. As a paying supporter how can it inspire me when a coach says he picked the best team when we won 3 out of 14 games? He was also very uncomfortable when I threw a few stats about Bushnell at him relating to him getting dropped for a county championship game having played well on debut and hitting 180 the week after for the 2nds. That is in no way rewarding success/good performances.
Unfortunately I left the members forum last week in the same opinion, he was exactly how I thought he would be and that is a real shame as I am very passionate about the club.
A lady spoke to me after the forum and said "do you feel inspired by that" in a sarcastic tone...... sort of tells you everything really.
As I said on the forum thread, Marcus North I felt spoke well, clear and sounded like someone who cared....... he went as far as saying the state of the balls is unacceptable in quite a passionate manner. None of that from Franklin, I can't imagine he inspires/motivates anyone to be honest and as have numerous folk on here said time and time again, walk round the ground, speak to members and 95% will offer you the same view/opinion. His results whilst at Durham suggest he isn't inspiring or motivating anyone.
