exactly. its very symbolic of our society. everyone is DEMANDING they get moved, the club may eventually bow to the pressure just so they can be seen to be 'listening' , but all it does is create another shitstorm somewhere else in the ground
every single person who is demanding to move the away fans hasn't thought it through for more than 2 seconds. as no one has come up with a solution even remotely realistic. but they'll keep stamping their feet.
They couldn't wait to wade into Morcambe fans last season. When bigger numbers come, they are less keen.Where were the Stewards and Police. They are far too soft and lenient with away fans.Surely they should have anticipated this anti social and dangerous behaviour. Were arrests made ?
I don't think there was any police stationed in the stadium during the match and hasn't been for a while. Just stewards.Where were the Stewards and Police. They are far too soft and lenient with away fans.Surely they should have anticipated this anti social and dangerous behaviour. We’re arrests made ?

Boro overcame logistical issues and moved the away fans from behind the goal to the stand down the side, so the equivalent of say around 4 or 5 blocks in the East stand towards the SE corner.Again you are missing the real issue here, your observations are merely organisational challenges.
Just to deal with your point, how do you think Everton and the like in old stadiums have managed to cater for away fans when there is clearly all the issues you point out there.
Why do Newcastle not have a problem with missiles?
Why are we talking about all this for only two clubs. Ban the bastards for 5 years as a club from our ground. It only takes the police and local authorities to insist on it for the FA to have to accept it
Issue you'll with option 3 is the lower bowl this season is pretty full with SC card holders. Option 1 is the one they should consider in the short term.I think there’s three solutions here.
1. Net
2. Move away fans back to the lower tiers
3. Move our fans at the bottom of the North Stand to other areas of the stadium
I get the feeling the club are going to lean to option number 3.
Think yesterday has brought it to a head and something needs to be done before the next home match. That probably means some kind of netting or perspex at the front of the stand.
Assume it's too late to move them this season but from next season I assume they'll look to move them back into the South Stand.

Yeah I get that, but with it being around 31k season tickets sold (I think) then there may be a fair few spaces higher up the North Stand or on the East/South/West.Boro overcame logistical issues and moved the away fans from behind the goal to the stand down the side, so the equivalent of say around 4 or 5 blocks in the East stand towards the SE corner.
Can be done if they take the issue of fans safety seriously

Definitely not after yesterday because that bottle could have seriously injured the person who normally sits in that seat. Nevermind the lad it just missed in row 15 and the glass shattering all over people in row 13 in front. If one good thing has come from this, it’s the fact that a few of us are not going to let it get swept under the carpet.
Didn’t see any arrests made. The stewards and police just stood and watched.Where were the Stewards and Police. They are far too soft and lenient with away fans.Surely they should have anticipated this anti social and dangerous behaviour. Were arrests made ?
3 - No. Don’t let them win. Throwing glass bottles deserves action, arrests, court action and if guilty, imprisonment.I think there’s three solutions here.

Well, yes. Obviously arrest the culprit who threw the glass bottle and the one who threw the flare.3 - No. Don’t let them win. Throwing glass bottles deserves action, arrests, court action and if guilty, imprisonment.
Throwing a flass bottle really is one of the worst things you can do at a match. What goes through someone's head to do that?
Any account with a load of numbers on it is a clear troll. You must be logged on to see media items

I have relatives in Coventry and have visited many times and can assure you that it is not a shit hole, in fact its just this year finished its time as the city of culture, the only problem is that its infested with arseholes.
“Every single person” isn’t employed by the club to sort problems out.exactly. its very symbolic of our society. everyone is DEMANDING they get moved, the club may eventually bow to the pressure just so they can be seen to be 'listening' , but all it does is create another shitstorm somewhere else in the ground
