The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

But, but, but - they're only smokies- @dangermows ;)
They are. Seen God knows how many of our fans holding them aloft in London and setting them off at Wembley with any issue.

Where the argument of it adding atmosphere is lost a bit is daft arses hoying them. But then again, anything thrown from a height is an issue so what that item is becomes irrelevant. Perhaps more would just keep hold of them if the authorities didn't threaten bans ;)
Unless they have a way of preventing missiles raining down then they have to move them back in to the Lower Bowl.

South Stand is most obvious given the history and location of cells etc.
They'll not disrupt the south stand IMO. And nor should they. Home fans should get the best seats. Leave the bellends out the way and whack a load of netting up. Would also help if the mag police gave a shit.

Don’t disagree marra. Just saying that the South Stand would be their most likely and probably easiest option.

Whatever though, something has to change. This can’t go on. People shouldn’t go to the match hoping not to get hit by something.

Would a net stop a coin? Or a dart?
Aye. Just ensure the holes are smaller than the items.

Just flip it round for Coventry and have us pelt them.

Cant see much being done in all honesty unfortunately

Wonder if the mags have these issues as they have a similar set up
My guess is not (tbf, we hoyed one into their lot).We didn't have many issues when in the Premier League (think man Utd hoyed a flare down once in the cup game). The lower league followings are made up differently, the Premier league attracts many more families, women, children etc. Lower leagues is largely young pissed up lads.

It was a smashed up Heineken bottle, don't sell glass bottles on the ground so must've been brought in just to throw.
We were close to both the smashed bottle and the flare, I also seen a steward holding what looked like a vape bottle. Total retards Cov fans, ban the lot. We could do with a net for protection, its a must!

Might be worth going down the Rolling Stones route and hiring the Hells Angels to work security and paying them in beer the next time Coventry come to the SoL. Just for the away end like.
They should be forced to pay for more security, even if it reflects in their ticket price. Seriously until either someone gets badly hurt or a club gets a massive fine then it will continue, the wankers on their day out will nearly always cause trouble if put above the honfans in throwing distance

Just put them back where they were. The away fans now have one of the best views in the ground. And throw stuff over.

Do you know why Durham Constabulary don't police our games mate? Seems they are the closest force.
Sunderland aren’t in County Durham.

And to be honest. Durham police are not equipt for large scale football polcing, I reckon currently you probably have less than 1000 uniformed officers compared to 3000 up in NoPol

BTW I’m from Durham city, not in durham
Police.

If anyone really cares about this repeated nonsense then action needs taking immediately.

That means an announcement from the club and police in what investigations are taking place.

It also means involvement from the FA / EFL. Coventry need to have the threat of a points deduction and reduced away allocations until their fans learn how to behave.

It's no good the club making platitudes to the fan base in their marketing communications and then failing to go in strong when their fans are having to deal with preventable shit like this.

Nah just give the fuckers sub 200 tickets right at the back of the top tier next time.

I may be wrong and missed something but I can’t ever recall a time when announcement has to be made during a game and scoreboards pleading with away fans to stop flinging stuff down. Incredible.

Gonna be so much bother when we go down there, every Sunlun ‘lad’ will be there.

Did that happen yesterday ??

Yes the stadium announcer asked Coventry fans to stop flinging things down and scoreboards turned the score and minutes off and put a message on to the away fans. Even against our close rivals like Mags, Boro, Leeds etc I can’t ever remember that happening.

The closet I can remember was Man Utd and even then, it wasn’t near the scale of those arseholes.
