The Safety of Fans in the North Stand

The frustrating thing for me is, the club knew this was a Cat C game and yet they sold another 500 tickets knowing it would make general sale.

I can understand your view mate but why should all away fans have to suffer because of this scum.

Hopefully CCTV will catch the Coventry supporters who did this but if it hasnt I would invest in better CCTV and make sure that when Coventry visit us again they are left in no doubt we are watching them.

Lets be honest it is just this fan group. Most human beings, never mind football supporters, never stoop to Coventry's standards.

I would ban Coventry from the SOL as a first step as it is only this fan base that thinks this behaviour is acceptable.

I think CCTV is the answer and then encouraging the authorities to chuck the book at anyone who carries out this cowardly and disgusting behaviour.

Just had a look at the Coventry forum - one of their posters said it is only one bottle and one flair...they obviously think this behaviour is acceptable. Thats the mentality of thier fanbase- some of them need locking up.

We don’t serve beer in glasses mate. The bottles were brought in by Coventry fans and then chucked into the home end.

The club are trying to find the arseholes that did it. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt

Its plastic mate, called pocket wine, the wife thrives on pocket wine.

As I posted earlier, when I came out of the ground a lass was trying to blame our stewards. She totally ignored the f***ing arsehole that could have killed someone by chucking a bottle

A few on the Cov forum seem fairly certain the lad was nicked. If they're wrong hopefully the cctv identifies whoever it was.

Theyre trying to downplay it as if nothing happened on there and saying the culprit was arrested is part of it

Just a quick message to say that I've seen the discussions on here and I've mentioned to the RAWA committee that we need to be bringing this up with the club. It's not a new issue, we all knew Coventry might bring a set of arseholes up again, and like many other areas we need to see some action from the club

At a fans meeting some time ago, at which Steve Davison was the guest speaker, fans voiced their concerns for NS Sunland fans safety, after Coventry fans had previously hurled missiles down onto Sunderland fans, the first time around.

He (Davison) said that the club would be looking to put in place, something to prevent missiles from being thrown down onto Sunderland fans.

A few years down the line, and obviously nothing has changed and history has repeated itself, with missiles once again, hurled down onto the Sunderland fans, sitting below Coventry fans, in the NS.

No preventative measures in place, and according to Davison, there's no plans to move away fans from the NS Upper.

Until today that travelling support was the worst I’d ever encountered. Chucking a glass bottle, however, is a new low.

As I keep posting, they have a lot of very decent fans but they seem reluctant to tackle the arsehole element.

We havent been able to get moved for their supporters this week. Where are they this evening?
