They are being committed in support of your club. Their atrocities are the only reason they've bought you. There'd be no need for sportswashing if they weren't bombing kids. Newcastle supporters are in a far better position than most people in the world to make a difference or at least try to get a message across.

The only message I see from 99% is that murdering kids is just fine as long as there's a possibility of entertainment to be had out of it.

No, when I go to the game it's to watch the match, like most people do I'd imagine.

The reasons for the human rights abuses have absolutely nothing to do with my club. You know this because they were being committed long before the club was bought, and if the club was sold tomorrow the Saudis would continue with them as they're ingrained in their culture

Just wait until ticket prices rise if they get anywhere near the top as I've always thought it would happen and the friendly prices are a possible sign of this. All this talk of increasing SJP or moving the ground is about something that won't happen before match day fans are milked a bit more.

They deserve credit though as they'll still sell plenty tickets for the friendlies and understandably so. Either team always gets an increase in crowds when hope is there and even more so when the footy is decent. We've sold 30,000 season tickets even after 4 seasons in League One which will be higher than any other Championship clubs average and we'll probably end up with more STs than any other clubs highest attendance. Even so, it's all pointless dick waving banter regarding crowds as most know how well supported we both are given the years of shite the last 50 years.

To start with yes as it was at the point where for you lot it was anyone but Ashley but without investment I think the initial honeymoon period would have disappeared rapidly.

Investment and a good cup run are often used as reasons for wanting Ashley out.

I dunno if you saw my post i made yesterday asking what is the actual point of sportswashing, or if any sportswashing attempt has ever been successful because it immediately highlights all that is wrong in those nations
But since saudi arabia have bought nufc they've had nothing but negative coverage. They went ahead with the LIV golf despite 6 months of negative attention from the nufc deal.
Ever since the takeover was first on the cards in spring 2020 they've had bad press more than they usually would've.
Even if 0 fans attended Newcastle games it wouldn't change a thing in saudi arabia. They wouldn't suddenly blush and think oh dear, are we the bad guys?

I don't think they give a toss how people see them. See also Russia, China, Qatar.

Sportswashing in my opinion doesn't work at all. If it does, do you know a succesful time it has been used?
