But we’ve got Dickson’s saveloy dips, so swings and roundabouts really. We’re fucked
Ooh eeh ooh as the song went!Luton has an airport

Miracle we got Ballard to choose us over Millwall. We've just spent 4 years in League One whilst the mighty Brentford are a mid table Premier League side. You'd have laughed at them too if someone suggested a young lad chose them over safc. Believe it or not but London is seen a better place to be than Sunderland especially by people who already live there. If the lad is really ambitious he will have sights set higher than safc, Luton and being in London can be just as good if not even better stepping stone than we can.
Not really, just saying it's not a forgone conclusion these days. Luton nearly went up last season and iirc theyve played decent football for quite a while.Miracle we got Ballard to choose us over Millwall.
If he goes to Luton the kid has no ambition and he is no loss.

Being in London has absolutely nothing to do with players reaching a higher level.
they arent travelling by horse and cartFar easier to be watched by the bigger London clubs scouts if you're playing there at least every other week.

Ballard thinks differently.Still far easier to watch regularly if he's on the door step. In any case it's not really the thrust of my point. If you're a young, talented and very ambitious footballer I don't think Safc automatically trump Luton at this moment in time. They made it into the play offs last season whereas we are clearly an unknown quantity currently.

I genuinely cant comprehend the mindset of someone, whether they are a fan or a footballer, who could even say what you've said about Luton compared to Sunderland. There is no comparison. Luton may have had a good season last year, but even the most basic grasp of history, finances, and logic would tell you that the more ambitious club and most likely place to suceed between the two places would be here.
And before that we spent 10 years in the premier league. We've just received a huge amount of publicity and praise for selling so many tickets at Wembley. The two clubs dont even compare. There's being humble, and then there's being illogical. You think you're being humble, but you're being illogical. And at the same time you're massively downplaying your own club.Think youre going way ott there, we've just spent 4 years in league one. Luton narrowly missed out on being in the Premier League. Perhaps Mick Harford and Nathan Jones could present a potential recruit with a compelling argument as to why they will be even bigger challengers next season.

If he was Dobson material, you'd love itSteady on.
I dont think the lad would set the world alight and would go in to the pool for places with Embleton, Neil and Pritchard, would have been a good signing although not a necessary requirement in league one.
The big London clubs have networks of scouts based all across the country (indeed the world) Arsenal aren’t employing scouts that only live within spitting distance of highbury tube stationFar easier to be watched by the bigger London clubs scouts if you're playing there at least every other week.
They might be able to offer him better chances of first team football. If Rudoni joins here he’s going into a pool that represents the strongest area of our team. Adding Clarke will only make it stronger too. Will be tough to get games in that AM area of the pitch. If you read my earlier post I said if he's very ambitious he'd probably see both Luton and SAFC as a stepping stone. I'm not downplaying safc simply trying to view things dispassionately. I think we've gone for players in the past and they've chosen 'lesser' clubs over us. He looks like he'd be a very welcome addition to our squad and hopefully all of the positive things you've rightly highlighted about safc prove irrisistsble to him. Just saying Luton might be persuasive too from a current footballing perspective, they played excellent stuff to get out of league one and I'm assuming they've carried on in that style by making the play offs but can't honestly say I've watched them.
