For a footballer like AOB who scored three tap inss at Blackpool yet cannot put his foot through or strike a ball cleanly there's hope for a good few on this forum to still make it into the first team. The lad is rank and has been since he joined.
How many professional matches have you played then ? The lad has limitations fair point but we’re a third division team at the moment so we need to get over ourselves on here, worked hard but if we are to progress then we need more than he can provide but we thank him for his effort

O'Brien has a great attitude, decent technical ability and puts the 'ilkustrious' Grigg to shame. He has been unlucky in front of goal a few times and has missed a few sitters too. Sometimes I think he tries too hard. Calling him worse than shite is unfair. He has his limitations but has made good contributiins as a squad player. He suffers from a lack of an obvious position, fitting in for the team rather than being an out and out striker. I wouldn't want him as first choice and if we can replace him with someone better that will be good. It is a mark of his character that he wants first team football and will move to get it. If he does go I wish him well, not quite good enough but deserving of respect for all his effort and a proper professiona, unlike so many others in recent seasons.
I've must have missed the trying too hard bit.
he has a promotion on his CV though....and the cretinous multitudes on here think thats importat or something..
Shit players can get promoted and win things, we should know that as much as anyone.

Like saying Roy Keane was a crap player cos he got relegated in 1993.

Only two ,unfortunately. Two broken ankles saw me off

Never lacked effort, just not good enough. Good luck to him for the future.
Exactly. A lad can only give his best and if it it isn't quite up to the mark then so be it. I'd rather have that than one who is good enough but can't be arsed and we've had quite a few of them in recent years
