L’equipe and Marca are making up stories? That’s quite possibly true (they can’t both be right), but I very much doubt it’s to make us feel we’re mixing it with the Big Clubs.

Theyve done it for years. Remember when a story "leaked" that Papisse Cisse was signing for us then signed for the Mags next day? :lol:

Fair comment. All anyone can assess on is what we have seen thus far. Thus far he has been better than average, would you not agree?

Again, all things are relative.
He looks a lot better than most of your team, I'll give you that. He's not a bad player as such. My opinion is that he's just not as special as Newcastle fans think. The rest of your squad make him look far better than he is. Which suggests to me that he's probably pretty average

Likewise I think in a Liverpool or Man City side he'd look poor alongside far better players. That to me suggests he's an average player.

He'd probably get a game at most premier league teams. But realistically I can't imagine Leicester or West Ham fans going on about how class he is.

Again, I've not seen him every game and we can only say what we see. It's also very early in his career in this country to judge. But so far I haven't seen anything that to me makes me think he's anything other than a middle of the road premier league player.
