Aye another bit of fortune for the Mags as Pope jumped and caught it cleanly with 2 hands. As he came down with ball in hands, the ball hit Schar's head then shoulder and took it out Pope's hands which he couldn't help.

You miss the point. By stepping and saying "You know there is a ceasefire" is like saying about Hitler "he has closed the concentration camps".......you just didn't need to say it.

This could be a Mike Ashley summer recruitment campaign. At least little Eddie tries though, bolts him. And all the mags want is a team that tries so I'm sure they'll be happy.

The only people in the football world who would argue that Dubravka and Pope are 20% of the top 10 keepers in the premier league, are those at The Mag.
But this is how it starts. They hype up anyone that signs beyond belief. Anyone in a black and white shirt is amazing.... it's always someone else to blame when they don't live up to it. Ashley, Bruce, Richard Masters....

Out of necessity they played hoof ball last season and the midfield was by passed. He doesn't (atm) have the players to consistently dominate possession.

They'll sell it as a "positive sign about the stature of the club and the ambition of the owners that they were trying to get players Madrid were after".
It's like Consett putting in a bid for Gareth Bale and then saying "look at our ambition, we were in for one of the games great players and were competing with some big clubs".

Let us enjoy it whilst it lasts as surely being the richest club in the world there must be some big names coming? Even I am not so naive to think otherwise!
But:
- Trippier because his missus wanted to be back in NW and no other Prem team wanted him;
- Burn as he is from Blyth;
- Targett as he was told he had no future at AV when Digne signed;
- Wood....well why wouldn't he. Likely best pay day of this life.
The only one I don't get is Bruno! Brazil international at Lyon, playing alongside his mate, took a huge risk signing for the team bottom of the league and risked losing his place in Brazil squad if it went tits up.
But:

Amanda isn't stupid. She knew that signing players like Burn and Wood was not going to get the fans onside. Trippier would, and a fancy Brazillian would.
But I still say Bruno is not the player most mags think he is. He's an average premiership player that wouldn't stand out at a lot of clubs...
