I personally don't think he is a publicity hound! You appear to point to him wanting a better bank for buck scenario ..on that basis i would suggest sunderland would give him that better than another club outside the top 6 of the prem.
he and his brother do want bang for buck, he has made it clear many time (the brother Bob runs the football company inoes operate) and i agree safc has more bang for buck potential than a lot of clubs.but ratcliffe confirms he bought the french team he owns because they were cheaper than an english team and are already playing european football...imagine what it would cost to get SAFC into Europe?
I dont think ratcliffe is a publicity hound in the sense of whanting to be famous..but he does name the things he buys after his company..so does want marketing..alsl by almost biddign for a thing..it alerts other potential vendors that he is looking at their asset class.

Am I missing something here? You've just said he might look lower that the PL due to cost, but then suggested that safc might not appeal because it'll cost a lot to get us into Europe. Surely any club below PL level would cost that.

Not that I imagine it would be a possibility mind. KLD seems to want to stay, and no major players will buy 39% of the club imo

Remind me which clubs does he own as i have no idea and haw long are they in Europe competition ?your last sentence makes no sense whatsoever if you intend to buy something how the hell does the vendor knowing your in the market effect anything?

they own the french club...nice which has been in europe under their ownership..dont know if this season like...and they have a swiss club and I think one other..

football club are private assets....you have to know they are for sale...have to have the relevant investment bankers calling you when they are comisisoned to sell..

100m euros is fuck all...safc s last valuaion,,in the third tier of football was £30m...so perhaps a third of it when accounting for currencey differntiation..Nice were top flight when they bought it..
Methven knew whoever the advisers were that helped sell safc..thats what he was there for,..his address book..unfortuantely he thought he was there for business ability

That would make complete sense if he had not been interested in Chelsea sale! The club with the most expensive real-estate on the planet!
Chelsea ground is owned by Chelsea Pitch Owners which is non profit organisation .It leases it out to the club at a peppercorn rent ,it was set up by Ken Bates to Deter the club been brought by property developers.

Your being a bit wishy washy as always ...........yes 100 million is nothing in today's market..he could get safc for 50 Million spend 100 million getting us to the premiership in a year or two ..thats a premiership club with premiership facilities and world beating fans for 150 milion ...whats not to love about that!Your not a sunderland supporter so you will never get it!!And before you start i know promotion is not guaranteed but if you spend you will get up eventually!Money always (except for outliers always rises to the top and you just have to look at every league in the world to see that).

its kildi who mentioned selling the ground ...i only meant it was a very desirable place to watch footballand i doubt even if they could sell it they could find land any cheaper in chelsea ,so it would be a non starter.

he could get safc for £30m...
and when can he spend the £100m? there are rules on spendoing..and yes eventually promotion happens...BUT..the time between now and expensive is costly..also...safc lost tens of millions in the premiership..OR he could own Nice now...and get it all now for £100m...
in the context of english clubs outside the top 6...SAFCV is defintiely in the top three best buys...now rhat its in the championship..but english clubs are expensive by the stadnards of global football..thats why so many are for sale while lyon and AC Milan have just been bought...AC milan went for a price one third of that of chelseas I think..AC milan won their league this year so are in the champions league...they are a famous and stories club...much better deal than chelsea..

a condition of the sale of chelsea is that the new owners commit to fuinding a new staium as chelsea get so many fewer fans than their rivals its getting harder to compete..
they could get a stadium somewhere like battersea for relatively fuck all...the current chelsea ground isnt in the borough chelsea is in (albeit its very near)

The french league revenue from tv is around 6x smaller than the premiership and you only really are quids in if you get near the finals of the European competition ... we will never agree as i think safc are the best option of any club in the English league for development and you dont ..i guess you would pick someone like Watford or crystal palace! so shall we just leave it at that!

watford now..palace, im not saying they are ahead of SAFC..but they are a very attractive propposiiton..great academy great catchment area but also in London, spent a lot on facilities and already established in the prem.
French TV revenue is not 6x smaller than TV revenue in the championsship..and to get a team to the premier league would cost a lot of the gains..also the palace owner just bought lyon...he may have to sell palace as a result...so he has choisen french over premier league

I wish HE and his hobbit mate had chosen Watford or Palace in the first place the salmon pant-wearing pretend dyslexic pillock.

Exactly. Might want to look at stadium naming rights and shirt sponsorship etc. There is at least 500 million reasons why they might theoritcally fancy trying to buy safc over a PL club. There's also the romantic angle too it all as well waking the sleeping giant from its slumber etc.

Nar no chance unfortunately. Just trying to suggest a case why we aren't actually that daft an idea for bona fide billionaire football fans.
Why is it no chance? Playing catch up here if it’s been SEB

There really is no reason for kidi to be on here ,hes not a Sunderland supporter..im not sure he is methman?,but more like one of his minions! It will be interesting to see what happens when the dastardly duo actually do leave?

I just cant see a Jim Ratcliffe, or any other major player for that matter, being interested in buying a 39% share in a club. Surely they will want the control and freedom to do as they please.

59%, I can see that - which is why I think KLD is playing a dangerous game relying on JS share to secure his controlling majority. JS could be a slippery fish and sell up to whoever buys SD & CM shares and in turn leave KLD a bit goosed.

Go on the Ineos website, under the sports section they have a football subsection that gives you all the details of their involvement in football.
