Durham’s T20 Campaign

The lad who played on Friday night and took 3 catches , whose name escaped you 😉

the funny thing is we'd fielded really badly and i'd literally just said about how he was maybe the only one who looked decent in the field, as a young lad looking to impress and almost straight away he took two catches in two balls

the run out by the wicketkeeper a bit later was sharp anarl, but largely it was an embarrassment of a match like

I’m terrible with names man
And I think for 23 seasons, including three championships and two one day cups, he buttered some bread back.
That’s generally how it works. My point is that it wouldn’t hurt for him to return to the ground (when he’s not at Loch Lomond or in Bali or some executive destination ;)

Seriously think we need to consider our future as a first class County. We don’t offer anything these days in any format of the game.

That is an absolute disgrace of a post. If you’re a Durham supporter you should be ashamed.

We don’t offer anything? No mate, just FIVE lads who are currently in the England setup. Including the Test captain.

Perhaps that’s one of the main reasons why we’ve struggled this season. Along with the 4/5 injuries we’ve also been dealing with.

Show me another county who could crack on unhindered whilst missing as many starters as we are at present.
If they are looking to trim down the county circuit we will be gone. An embarrassment to the game.

FFS, it gets worse 🤦‍♂️

Yeah if he’s not fit I agree with that.

He shouted you’re a f**** disgrace Franklin resign now + a bit more. Even if he’d just shouted the resign but that’s not acceptable at cricket for me. I was just walking down to the signing session with my 9 year old nephew which angered me most.
Don't take him to the football then. If the 92 is your date of birth give ower.

I'm your age and I knew all the swear words pretty much by 9. Football taught me that from starting to go at 6.

I'm aware cricket is somewhat different to the football. But kids all learn to swear eventually. Just words, you just teach them not to use them aggressively at others.

There's a big difference between knowing swear words and thinking it's acceptable to shout abuse at people.

This may sound cynical but it’s clear the club doesn’t care about anyone/thing that doesn’t generate money. No press conferences or members forums to address the dire T20 campaign and disastrous decisions.
Have to sadly agree. Was always a close relationship between members & the club but since North and Franklin arrived it's pretty much non existent and that includes with the media as well. It's really disappointing & worrying how the club is at the moment on & off the field. During my time watching Durham, the club has always has that connection between team/club/members.... It's the complete opposite at the moment.

Nonsense man, Steve harmison says the club is heading in the right direction

Interesting take

We’ve got 5 players in the England squad(s) and the finances are (we’re lead to believe) on a very solid footing. So not really that interesting.

Pretty bang on when you put it into perspective.
2nd XI have a championship game tomorrow. It's a home game at Richmondshire. We appear to be disoriented in more ways than one at present.

I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, but the club are at the mercy of clubs wanting to host and absorb the costs of hosting.

That nursery ground would’ve solved a lot of problems. If it had been built…

While we or some are in a moaning mood why the blooming heck was entrance between gate 6 ( trapdoor) stand and members lounge entrance via Ballantine's blocked because of sky’s paraphernalia and set up .
Sky have been here many times and you could always pass their set up via the rear of the lorries but on Sunday the whole end was blocked off.
I pay the club for disabled parking which I access via gate 6 .
I arrived early because my mobility is worse than it’s ever been because of a broken hip and I intended to go to the members lounge for something to eat before the game.I was immediately accosted by these pes security bodies who informed me I could get access to the members lounge via the back of the sky set up and I would have to go the long way round.
He was a right jobsworh jack but fortunately I was able to get a club steward whom I knew and he escorted me through the Sky end to Ballantines to tower 3. the short way.
Why was the whole end cordoned off ?it was not necessary and a considerable hardship and inconvenience.
Total overkill by the club or Sky?

What we need is clear communication from Beefy, Franklin and Bostock saying what’s gone wrong and their commitment to fan satisfaction (and success in the game). Turn down the mic bloke, refurbish the ground and overhaul the coaching. Plenty of eager young lads read
to play. Have some faith man beefy
