..will they do pay on the day next season?

We should be capable of it like mate, even the burger vans between the ground and St Peters take contactless now so you’d think a professional football club could come up with a solution if they insists on being a ‘cashless ground’.

It was just back end of last season didn't the club stop doing pay on the day of a game mate?

Not sure actually I don’t think they allowed pay on the turnstiles at any point through the season but you could still pay at the ticket office on the day of a game. Could be wrong though. Problem with only allowing it at the ticket office is it could put people off going because of the queues seeing as the ticket office is only so big and can only have so many people serving at a counter (about 8 staff max probably?) compared to what, 60 odd turnstiles in the lower bowl alone which would spread the load around.

Last season you could pay on the day for every home game.
Either
By card at the ticket office
or by card online (print at home or in your phone)

You could not pay at the turnstile for any game.
You could not pay using cash at any game.

Should still find a way of allowing/bringing back pay on the turnstiles though, in my opinion. Should be making it as easy as possible for people to get tickets and one of the ways to do that is to have as many options as possible to cater for everyone’s preferences.

My guess is paying on the turnstiles May be harder now we are selling so many tickets. How do you know which ticket to sell? With the TO and online apps how will the turnstile operator know which seat to sell?

Agree.
Something along the lines of contactless on the Tube. They would only need to kit out a couple of the turnstiles.

What they used to do was print off (and block out on plan) a few hundred tickets situated in the least popular areas.

It's because the club don't want to pay for staff to man the turnstiles to issue the tickets .
Sell the concourse as pay on day only at a higher price .
