Derby County deal expected to collapse

'Ex-Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is still determined to complete a buyout but negotiations with Quantuma have been fractious.' Ashley knows what he is doing the adminstrators couldn't find their own backside with both hands.
mike ashley is aan excellent retailer but not a great deal maker

Looking at the papers this morning, it looks like the biggest problem Ashley has is that he considers the level of Quantuma's fees to be unreasonable. That's actually because he thinks they'd get too much of the sale proceeds before any distribution to creditors (leaving him to make up some of the difference post-acquisiton.

He's been making a habit lately of buying distressed retailers out of administration, so I would imagine he's got a pretty shrewd idea of what administration fees should look like,

Think Quantuma are after a 6 figure fee for protesting the points deduction even though Wigan set a precedent for that never going to happen 12 months later. They've done a pretty terrible job

Let's be honest , he neglected every other part of the business other than the 1st team, and even then he let that run self sufficient. I know it's cool to say on here , he had them running well etc, but he really didn't do a great job there and I can see why every mag I know was against him
On the flip side though, the mags are (understandably, if you ignore the human rights, sportswashing side of things) delighted with their new owners but, due to FFP, they should be thanking Ashley for the p way he was running them. He is a big part of the reason why they can, comparatively, splash the cash now. Obviously I'm sure their owners would try and find ways and means to do it anyway, but I reckon the ability to stroll in and start spending off the bat was probably one of the things that attracted them to NUFC n the first place

I agree with that Guiness,

Or he might have been the sartorial emperor's new clothes using someone else's details to prove he definitely wasn't a chancer.
he has been pracnign around derb for so long that financial conditions have changed a lot..
for example..is he a tech entrepreneur? tech shares have fallan dramatically in recent months..he may have had the cash then, but not now, his backers the same..interest rates are much higher now....the loans he has will now be costing him more
I disagree, I think he knows exactly what he is doing & will get Derby at a rock bottom price.
he may well do...he may have learned from his newcastle experience where he didnt k now what he was doing and ludicrously overpaid..

Kirchner has the money. He's proved it to the EFL twice. He's done everything he has to except actually transfer the funds.

Is there a reason why the administrators are blanking Ashley? He seems to be the only real genuine candidate the more this goes on.
