Under Ashley, I'd agree with you but the only thing stopping us from getting the share of top quality is the fact we're not in any champions league spot or even Europa for that matter.

However, the difference now is a clear ambition that many a player will take heed of.
We may miss out on many targets but we will inevitably get the clear quality that will give us the massive potential to at least target a champions league place in the not-too-distant future. It may take a few years but the ambition will be there to see, in my opinion.
I think the contracts given to Dummet and Longstaff is telling though. That “not to distant future” might be farther away than you think. Don’t forget, those top clubs above you will have to stop buying players for you to catch up. They have a massive head start on you especially if ffp is clamped down on

Why don't journalists ask the mag players these questions. Brilliant from that journalist by the way
the ones who signed after the takeover
“So, whenever anything else negative is reported to do with Saudi Arabia and sport, Newcastle United has to be part of the story as well.”

Yes mate, that is correct. Enjoy lying in the bed you’ve made for yourselves
yep. they need to hope the saudis "change" quickly so they stop being talked about when their owners do something.
Graham McDowell- "Id be proud to help Saudi Arabia get to where they want to be"

Absolutely astonishing
if its where they want to be, they'd already be there. there;s nothing stopping them being a civilized society except themselves.

How many of these 10k posts are from scum trying to justify their heinous owners actions, which by the way include killing school children, stoning women, killing people because of their sexual orientation.
It won't go away, it can not be justified in any way.
Are you making a point on how many posts on here defend murder or just that murder is wrong? Your reply doesn’t seem to actually be to my post. As for the statistical analysis of how many people on here post in defence of murder, instantly banned WUMs aside, there really aren’t any.

They’ve sold their soul for fuck. I’m tempted to put money on them finishing no higher than they did last season. I wonder what odds I would get on a bottom half finish for them - 3/1 maybe?

Brings this comment to mind when he met a WW2 veteran:

He said: "I hope I look like that when I'm 92 but somehow I don't think I will be, especially after what happened to me at Sunderland!
I thought that was a pisstake- unbelievable thing to say.

Ambition ? To simply buy success at any price including ignoring the atrocities of the owners who are simply on a sportswashing mission to use sport as means to mask their true face of abhorrent abuse. What kind of player is going to buy into that ?
Plenty of top players will buy into Newcastle united.
Bruno and Trippier are just two.
Sit back and watch the ride.
I think the contracts given to Dummet and Longstaff is telling though. That “not to distant future” might be farther away than you think.

It's not a sprint it's a marathon run from the walk we've been going through.
The sprint is not on any agenda. A steady build is what's required over a good few years.
As for Dummet and Longstaff, it's what I'd expect of careful owners, to keep a Geordie influence and also an English contingent.
Dummet has a year for his service and will be used sparingly I'd think.
Still, a useful left-back to have as a backup but a centre half if needed as well.
Don't forget we have cup games to negotiate.
Longstaff has massive potential that Howe will likely enhance this season.
Don’t forget, those top clubs above you will have to stop buying players for you to catch up. They have a massive head start on you especially if ffp is clamped down on
Top clubs can only buy so many players. It leaves plenty out there that can be scouted and scrutinised by a much much much more ambitious and careful setup as we are putting into place at Newcastle United.
I'm excited.

I’m hearing rumours that the Botman transfer is back on. Shows the intent that the owners are willing to liberalise, no way would they be signing anyone with such a name a few years ago.

In other news, Dwight Gayle is heading for Boro.

I never called you a deluded idiot?

The statement is correct.

The barriers to entry to Golf are essentially the US PGA - they could, with huge prize money, completely disrupt golf as we know it.

In contrast, as evidenced by Chelsea losing 900k p/w you can throw as much as you want at football but you won't make a return. The caveat is that if they spend sensibly, establish the club in top half, then they could make a return..... but will the owner, who is not the owner, be happy with that?

I await your apology.
Deluded meaning that is the title thrown at us of a B&W persuasion. Not a suggestion you made the comment directly sir.
Whilst your point may be correct on golf they are not, in my opinion, hunting a return primarily. The aim is the same as with us.
Apology offered with grace.

Too little too late. Unless they can retrospectively boot them out. FFP pressure, players not wanting to sign for them & clubs quoting a "Saudi Tax" on fees will hopefully fuck them up from within.

62 year old lads being ganning on for years , in Turkey last week bloke sees me safc shorts me cossie lol , went alright mate where ya from told him Holywell near whitley bay ,he laughed and said he was a geordie ( black and white ). But was from Durham. I laughed and called him a plastic mag and Durham mags were the worst kind. Never spoke to me rest of the week.

What the fcking hell is that?:eek:

Even their songs are like something a 12 year old thought up.

Mags on the phone to the old bill as we speak.

Why hasn't Chi Onwuhrah been rinsed in parliament or by the media yet. It would all be hilarious if she wasn't so disgustingly hypocritical and morally bereft.

Wraith  world peace. Diverse owners wtf?! The Mags still trying to play the race card on this? They've gone full Chi Onwurah
She’s f***ing useless.
