It’s why they won’t do anything like a Man City or Chelsea. Those clubs when they made business also hurt their rivals in the process by taking their better players. Let’s say they have top 4 ambitions, it’s the equivalent of them now signing the likes of Son, Saka, Odegaard and Hojberg. This si

Good observation,. City in 08/09 took Bridge and SWP from Chelsea, then in 09/10 took Adebayor and Toure from Arsenal then in 11/12 took Clichy and Nasri from Arsenal and then later the big signing of Sterling....who moved to win the league.

Wealth of top clubs is comparable now so mags would need to blow teams out of the water with the size of the bid and the contract on offer. Maybe they will do that? But so far it doesn't seem that.

Can I just point out Sean Longstaff has just signed a new contract.

In the first summer window of the Sheikh Mansour era at City, they signed Tevez, Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, and Adam Johnson as forward players. That helped them from 10th to 5th in one season.

Mags have a lot to do in the next 12 weeks if they’re going to do anything resembling City.

Gabriel Jesus is exactly the type of signing you’d think they’d try to make if they were going to get anywhere fast - didn’t ever seem to be the slightest prospect of that one happening though.

They still seem to be prioritising scouring the French league for young players - same approach as under Ashley.

If only scum fans showed as much anger towards their owners who kill children as they did with a bloke who didn’t win enough football games for them.

I don’t really like the Mags but Steve Bruce really needs to give it a rest. It’s never his fault at whatever club he’s just failed at. He’s constantly whinging about how he’s been treat.

Brings this comment to mind when he met a WW2 veteran:

He said: "I hope I look like that when I'm 92 but somehow I don't think I will be, especially after what happened to me at Sunderland!

Very weird situation. They've clearly got the money but not willing to spend it.

Or is it just players are not interested in signing
