I happen to think that Sam Fender is a talented songwriter…..but my god….he is so far up his own “whey, am Ah Geordie man!…Luv tha toon…” arse that he is just a parody of himself now. There is a pic of him with Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp in the Bridge and Beck looks bemused at best….Depp looks all Hollywood dressed down style….and Fender looks like a pissed up knacker reflecting in their fame and dare I say talent. Which is exactly what he is. Flame burning bright right now….the Sportswasher‘s poster boy….but can see him fizzling out just as quickly.

He’s the stereotypical Geordie. Despite not being one.

99% of proper Geordies don’t go on like this. It’s the ones from surrounding areas that have to try and prove how ‘Geordie’ they are.

Sound a little bit bitter there son. Your drumming career never take off? Just a young lad enjoying his current fame, whether it’s 5 minutes or 20 years, he won’t give a shite.

Take off…no not really. One of those near but not quite things. It happens a lot and goes with the territory. I have great memories of recording and playing and have a great respect for anyone that ‘treads the boards’. As I said, I think that Sam Fender is a really talented songwriter and as a musician I most certainly respect his talent.
My point is that he plays the ‘Professional Geordie’ and the ‘HUUUUGE Toon Fan’ card too much, which I feel takes away from his musicianship.
Will he give a shite if it all goes tits-up? Perhaps not….can’t say as I don’t know him. But if he doesn’t fulfil his talent to the full, I can certainly see that saddening him as it all fades away.
As for his Sportswashing antics….that has zero to do with musical talent and everything to do with being a moral vacuum.
I hope that he continues with his musicianship and has continued success….but he can f*** off with his semi official ‘minstrel for the murderous’ shyte.

oh….and unless you are in your eighties….I’m not your son. 😘

Have you seen what it's actually about and he's tweeted again and it's about some airline company called "Wizz Air UK" :lol: and nowt to do with Gatwick themselves. Pathetic when people do shite like this in public rather than just deal with it directly or has he (or others) just sat there for 4 hours and not said a word to anyone?

He has become the ultimate professional geordie. I fully expect him to be sitting alongside Jimmy Nail, Kevin Whately and Tim Healy on a stage singing Big River and how the song encapsulates what it means to be a geordie within 5 year.

I hear this ‘professional Geordie’ thing a lot from Sunderland folk. Nothing wrong with a bit of pride in your region. Since John Hall created The Nation and disowned you lot, you’ve struggled for a bit of identity and it sometimes shines through.
