Look up the term vergangenheitsbewältigung if you're interested in learning how the Germans became rehabilitated into civilised European society. Saudi Arabia hasn't undergone anything similar and it doesn't look likely that they will anytime soon.

Get this everyday. Some older lad from Newcastle said the other day when chatting about restaurants: "I sometimes go to that Italian on Roker Marina in Sunderland, lovely place" followed by some Geordie in a shocked tone: "Sunderland!? Why!?"

I get that, you only have to look at Everton for their covid figures. the loss of parachute payments is huge however and I would hope you agree investment is needed. I want a strong NE, the NW and London have had it their way too long, so in Alex Neil you have a really good manager, ambitious and wont want to settle for being an also ran.

Just wanted to call on one point. The idea that KSA might want to change. Where is the evidence of that? What actions have they taken to improve their human rights record.

And if the defence is that this can be used as a vehicle to force change from the outside. Why isn’t anyone involved with the club asking serious questions of them? Why is Eddie refusing to answer questions on atrocious acts carried out since they’ve taken over. Why are the vast majority of the fans crawling all over any criticism of KSA defending them.

Good point Pilly. I wonder if @honest mag has ever met a Saudi? EIther way he is extremely naive. The views, on say homosexuality, are ingrained in society. The Saudi's think we are wrong and we should change. In fact it is extremely arrogant for people to say they should change and impose our beliefs.
