"Illusions of a big club" Their obsession with being a big club is very odd
I'm from Sunderland. I'd support Sunderland whether we were the size of Real Madrid or whether we were the size of Barrow.
Mags seem to need validation that supporting their hometown club is worthwhile by all this more than a club bollocks.

‘Whilst giving tickets away for free or at hugely discounted rates may be good to keep up the illusion of a “big club”, the new owners will need to decide whether they want to continue this generous ticket policy. It’s one of the main factors contributing to their financial plight.’

They’re such a weird lot like. Why would you take the time to write a full article about your league 1 rivals.

Rent free.
One of those things that if they repeat it enough it’ll be true. Like a safc fan shitting in the stadium.
It’s a massive superiority complex and they can only feel great by belittling others. Massive self worth , weird *****

"Mike Ashley is ripping the fans off! It's hurting my mental health! Write to your MPs! Waaaa!"

"Sunderland sell tickets to young fans at very reasonable prices. Scum!"
I've never understood taking the piss out of discounted ticket prices, it gets youngsters in and hopefully hooked on the club. 'Haha look at those lot paying reduced prices'.

It's like a weird badge of honour paying full price, in a league with a ridiculous amount of money involved and on top of that at the richest club in the world - surely they should be reduced.
