Must admit the last game I watched you live was spurs away. You've really been bigging up the way you play and what a pleasure it is to watch you these days since that game.

I'm really looking forward to Sundays game when your live on sky. Going by what you've been saying I'm expecting an excellent close end to end game on Sunday.
Just enjoy the game.

I predict more of an end game.

Basically Man City attacking Newcastle's end for pretty much 90 minutes.

I have most as I created them for a project quite some time back. Here are a few that I have updated since when people have asked:

WHU 18.3
SAFC 16.6
LFC 8
MCFC 13.3
Wolves 21.2

I'd need a good few hours to tidy them all up. The hard work was generating a list of seasons with teams in each of the divisions to work out position when out of top flight.

This is the one I found. 3 years out of date now.

The top flight was;

Liverpool 9.03
Arsenal 9.49
Everton 9.68
Man Utd 10.55
Villa 11.69
Man City 13.97
Newcastle 14.88
Sunderland 15.99
Chelsea 16.78
Tottenham 16.79
WBA 17.83
Blackburn 19.88
Derby 20.40

I don't think Derby would average a top flight position these days. I even dispute they should be included there tbh as 20.4 isn't a top flight position, unless in those years when there's been 22 teams.

That looks about right with the improvement of NCFC and LFC and the demise of Sunderland! I also looked at the standard deviation to show who was the most volatile. So back to the original point - Everton have a "lower" mean but also a lower s.d. than the mags. Sunderland are fecking volatile.

Liverpool very impressive. I think since they were promoted in the 60s they've never finished lower than 8th.

Average since 1962 (when they were last promoted) - 3.5 with a standard deviation of 2.2. Incredible.

Deluded calling me out....but they lack so much football knowledge that they did not realise the 222m for Shearer is actually correct! I suspect few of them have an Athletic subscription so here it is in cartoon form which is more your level -

Shit. Looks nailed on we’ll be relegated to the possession championship. Hope we don’t end up nosediving to league 1.

Are you coming here to snipe or to discuss?

That video has some errors in fees.
The Dwight Yorke fee was £12m and Bergkamp was 7.5.

I couldn't work out their formula and in the athletic article they didn't explain it. I've read similar articles over the years where they've explained their working

I didn't make the video but the premise remains.

It is calculated from the compounded growth in Premier League incomes from 1992. I would have thought 222m for Shearer, having just scored 31 goals and wanted also by Man Utd (and I think Real Madrid if rumours are true) seems fair? Don't you?

Using the same data and to show much they were spending at the time the c20m spent on LF, DB, WB and DG amounts to 250m today (107, 58, 51 and 32m respectively).

I know you didn't make the video, i watched it a few weeks ago and remember the errors.

I don't even disagree with the numbers as I've read other articles over the years with similar results.
I just wanted to know how they do the calculations. That's what interests me about it. In 1998 we signed Duncan Ferguson for £8m but he wasn't in the article as they only looked at the top 3 transfers from each season. But Duncan Ferguson adjustment wouldn't come in as high as Stan Collymore (8.5) or Bergkamp (7.5) or even Les Ferdinand at £6m.
I'd like to have been able to work out other transfers that weren't mentioned.

blows my mind that there are human beings that spend their free time away from work making twitter accounts dedicated to this place and taking screenshots/tweeting them out constantly.. proper miserable existence that like

Liverpool certainly did let us off the hook but then again I have no real complaints. We were beaten by a team that generally gives very little away and generally trounces opponents.
We were well beaten and as you point out, we had little to offer.

I thought we'd have had a better go but maybe Howe's told the players to ensure we don't get trounced, first and foremost as it can dent confidence, unlike losing by one goal, which will actually aid it.
Did they have a lap of honour and team photo 🤢
Behaviour filtering down from the top I see.
How can mags be upset about this and call it out but beheading, murder, stoning and child marriage can’t be ?
