Burnley want Alex Neil

By that logic any team can challenge though.

I dont think a lot of their plays will be wanted like, but they will be good enough to get them near the playoffs if they stay as they are just a decent functioning unit together

if they dont, then they are fucked aye, but I think the majority of their team will stay together

Look at Sheffield United, not a great side at all but kept a lot of their solid players who know the system

If we stay in League One its not a bad shot for a manager in a year like,

its been weak lately which is why Fulham, Norwich and Bournemouth do so well

Sunderland and Burnley will be in the same division next. Two wonderful clubs with a rich histories but there's simply no comparison in terms of size. Many may think that parachute payments and a big budget would swing this in the latter's favour, but they won't realise that Burnley have been loaded with debt and are in serious trouble in the event of a relegation. The American clowns will run that club into the ground. There's 0% chance of this happening - he'd be mad to touch them.

The only thing big about Sunderland is the size of the crowds and the ground. As a manager this will win you nothing. If people are talking tin pot then look no further than our owners. They have said they want to run the club sustainably eg spend nowt. We will need to show ambition to keep Neil. I suspect mid table in the championship won't cut it for him longer term.

PNE fan here , really don’t think there’s anything to worry about with this .

As mentioned already Burnley are in massive financial trouble and if relegated highly likely to have a huge fire sale.

Secondly Alex is a very Loyal manager , while doing well at Preston he had numerous offers to leave, Stoke we’re desperate and offered way more than he was on here, as did West Brom .

It loooked nailed on he would leave for the baggies , that’s when he ended up signing a new long term deal.

Unfortunately not long after things turned sour , the 12 month rolling contract had worked well until that point, not sure what happened but knowing our chairman he was probably made assurances of money to spend that never materialised.

Alex completely lost his mojo and that was that.

Really can’t see him jumping ship for Burnley, it seems he’s winning any doubters over up there and given time and funds will get you promoted next year.

Still a good chance he may do it this season the run you are on anyway 👍🏻

I like Neil but you would imagine a relegated Premier League would have their sights set higher. It didn’t end overly well for him at Preston - aren’t they local rivals with Burnley? Maybe not a popular appointment.

Can’t see it - just standard shite as we build momentum.

According to the press Last weekend Burnley were apparently after Wilder from the mutants. I wouldn't read to much into what the sun say they've hated us since we banned them for leaking our team sheet against Palace

Honest question… does Alan Nixon ever post a positive story regarding Sunderland?
Every story always puts a negative slant on Sunderland

Nope. Always throws something out there to worry our fans whenever things start picking up, it's really strange.
