CC :: Durham v Nottinghamshire

Am after a simple Durham cap with logo, not going due to lack of shops.

Can I ask the SMB's finest what their views on wearing this is

I love it and probs will buy it anyway just to have in the house but is it acceptable to be wearing this at games, or is it a John Terry full kit type scenario?

Way better than that bloody Lion logo.

Haven’t been able to get to the morning sessions over the past 2 days. So I’ve yet to see Notts lose a wicket and I’m getting tired of watching them bat. Wicket seems to have become lifeless again same as last week. Wonder if it’s got anything to do with the square being re-laid a couple of years ago, or just that end playing true to form? Time will tell I suppose. Not looking good for us but, maybe, can hang on for a draw. Their spinner could have a big say on the outcome though.

Pffft **sigh**. Something just isn't right here. The wickets are concerning, but it seemed to be doing a bit of everything yesterday but seems dead today, though some of our bowling was average at best. I guess it could well be a mixture of all but it seems common knowledge with folk that the far side wickets towards Don Robson are a tad lifeless.... Is that a result of relaying the wickets in Winter 2020? Potts the only one to get anything out of the wicket, just like last week. Captaincy wise, I'm not convinced it was all a bit of a mess today but captaincy aside the form of Borthwick is a worry. It's all just a bit weird at the moment. Lots of questions been asked about many things at the moment at the ground.

Aye absolutely, but its a cricket cap not a normal cap,

Might look like I am third man on the boundary or someit

Think most people wear a hat of some description at the CC. Might be more to do with the age demographic though. Lad I know wears an England Test cap when it’s sunny so can’t see how a Durham CCC cap would be out of place.

I actually thought Borthwick bowled reasonable in the afternoon session, he looked far better that Drissel and I'd much rather have another batsman or seamer in.

flat pitch, frustrating day, I thought the captaincy was fine, tried a few options

the damage was done by the left arm spin first day, he bowled really well but that shouldnt happen day 1

can we rescue a draw? We would have to play him a lot better

Pattinson can also take the pitch out of the equation

Potts is a talent though, Durham have produced another one there, England talk already, I reckon he will make a white ball squad in the nxt 18 months

the cricket hasnt been great but 2 home games in a row with great weather for April, its a bonus like, I've enjoyed popping down for last session then a walk down river.

I think you're over thinking it, it's a cap specifically designed to keep the sun out of your eyes at the cricket. You like it, wear it, if anyone has a problem they're a bit odd to be honest.

Didn't get to see any of today's play and by the look of the scorecard and reading the comments on here it sounds like another tough day for Durham and especially their bowlers.
It looks like if Notts play well they will be about 300/350 ahead by mid afternoon and gives them a day and a half to bowl out Durham.
One thing I will say in defence of Durham is they do have 2 front line pace bowlers not available who make up The best 4 man pace attack England have and also another genuine quick bowler who has broken into the England set up who is injured. There are numerous counties who haven't produced 3 bowlers of that quality in 20 years never mind in the same team. Some people may not agree but that is the main purpose of county cricket so that is some effort.
It maybe that Durham have to change their policy of signing overseas batsmen to at least having one overseas bowler who is a point of difference to the standard county seamer.
Going tomorrow and hopefully Durham batsmen can take advantage of the conditions and bat for 4 sessions. A great opportunity for the likes of Jones Peterson or even the skipper who could do with a big hundred.

A really exciting prospect though is Jack Campbell, 6' 7" , LMF. Finishes Uni this year then presumably full-time pro. Could be a left arm Harmi with the right coaching.

Aye v true. A main feature of my personality is overthinking things to be fair
