Ecstatic to be fair.

Burnley is still bottom 3 with that signing. I'd say Wood has better team input than Weghorst.
I also think Wood will finish off the season strongly. Just my opinion.

He was signed as a no-nonsense first-team centre half from being a squad player. A genius move for a Geordie coming home.

I agree but it isn't now. Far from it.

Massively, along with Targett and to an extent, Tripper. Let's also not forget a resurgence of Krafth and Schar and also to a lesser extent, Lascelles. A massive buoyed upgrade.
Even Manquillo...etc.

I've already seen the progress. Playing Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal will be a much more enjoyable contest due to us being safe.
They may get massive shocks and I believe they will.
One thing I'm confident of. We'll give them all a good game playing with a lot more freedom. If we get hit by one of them or even two, I'm sure the fans will forsake it just for the chance to express themselves.

Those teams have to fear us, not the other way around.
We have their title hopes or champions league hopes by the scruff of the neck. Who has the most pressure?..... Not us.

It is when it gets you into the position we're in when considering the inflated market that January always brings.

Anyone can spend 95 million if they have it but getting out of the situation we were in is certainly not anything like easy. You need the right owners and persons to oversee the end product. Eddie Howe and co have done exactly that.

None of this matters anyway of course

If you write to the Premier League and campaign like you did for the takeover they may award a European place for a selective 15 game period …or even a certificate. You love those.

I never done any campaigning.

Yes I enjoyed winning the intertoto. A European campaign reaching the last 16 was good but ended disappointingly.
It's good playing in Europe and playing the intertoto qualifying round then progressing further than any other entrants via that route meaning we won a certificate was enjoyable.

BSA saved us from a similar position with about £15M.

Your delusion is frightening. I can't wait to bump your post after you get pumped off both City and Liverpool 😂

We'll get beat off Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal imo. 3 good sides with something to play for. Chance of a win at Norwich. Burnley on the final day depends if they are still fighting for survival.

Do you think we'd have got out of relegation trouble playing every game with just 10 men?
Obviously, you wouldn't.
I agree we paid over the top for Wood.
I also agree he's not the best forward by a country mile.
However, what he is is a grafter and an outlet and also a pain for defenders which allows others to get into positions much easier.

We also signed two players who were squad players in Targett (loan) and Burn.
Let's put it all into perspective as it stands.

How many would have Dan Burn over Harry Maguire?
What did we pay for Dan Burn?
Targett has a price tag of £15 million. A bargain by today's sickening rates.

And then we have Trippier who's worth twice what we paid.
Swings and roundabouts to be fair but massive shrewd, almost genius signings, and where we are in the league kind of proves that. Unless people want to put it down to luck,

That's football. One minute you're sky high and the next as low as a snake's belly. It's the nature of the beast in people. We all do it.

People want joy. They will place anyone on a pedestal as high as possible if they produce what is deemed worthy of it. They will also crush the same person who dips well below those standards.

It'll never change.
Look at Ranieri at Leicester.

As fans, we're a massive fickle bunch, throughout.

I think it's fantastic. Create a togetherness and you can conquer anything.

I went off Rafa not too long after we got back into the premier league.
I wasn't one championing the man.
As for Howe, yes he is. He is the messiah for me. He's fantastic and I can't praise him highly enough.
Only Newcastle fans would think it was fantastic 🙄 it’s f***ing cringeworthy

Aye, he did well.

Your delusion is frightening.
Delusion about what?

Feel free to bump whatever you wish.
If we get beat or thrashed we'll still be playing premier league football.
However, we can go into those games with zero pressure of failure other than to have a go as a requirement from the fans.

The pressure is on those two, including Arsenal.
I'd be very surprised if we lose all 3. We may do but my optimistic mindset is we'll take 10 points from the remaining 5 games which will include only one defeat (maybe) against those big 3.

I'll bookmark this post and I'll bring it up also. Let's see.
I'm actually being optimistic and arrogant to be fair, now.
That's due to the resurgence of togetherness of most (if not all) of this entire squad and setup.

If that's delusional then you're welcome to think it. I call it massive confident excitement.

Burnley replaced Chris Wood with a similar target man for less than half the money. It was an amateurish, short term signing. Burnley had your eyes out.

Dan Burn was not signed as a squad player. Your defence was a mess. He has shored you up to some extent. Obviously we'll see the real progress you've made over the next few weeks against the better, in form sides.

It's not 'genius' to spend £95 million on new players. It's something most people in football could do easily.

Almiron has scored 1 goal in 14 months. Obviously that makes him class.
The thing about Wood though is he's part of a team thats going to keep us up. He's paid for himself. I know you keep using him as a yard stick for some reason, but he's done what he's been bought to do. Be part of a squad to keep us up. Meanwhile, Weghorst may be part of a team going Down. I'm not sure anyone has claimed Wood to be a long term answer, but in a similar way to Darryl Murphy in the Championship he's done his Job. He's paid for his fee.

Don;lt forget they're also under massive pressure. We aren't. Anything can happen and I certainly don't think we'll lose all 3. I think we are in for a massive finish which will include taking points of some of those.
I think we'll give one a good old nose bleed in style.
Only Newcastle fans would think it was fantastic 🙄 it’s f***ing cringeworthy
To be honest, it's what fans of a club would do and what fans of a club who hate that club would not do, so it's hardly a shock.

Chris Wood has made a £25M dent in your FFP transfer kitty.

He was brought in to score goals. He hasn't achieved that.

Well so far he's scored an equaliser and a winner. He's made much less of a dent in FFP as opposed to if we were relegated. As it happens I think he's shite, but has done exactly the job he was bought to do and paid for himself already, probably twice over.

We should have signed Defoe instead.

Delusional doesn’t even come close to describing you. To give a team “a good old nose bleed in style” you have to dominate the game. You will see very little of the ball against all 3 teams, that is a simple fact. You might counter attack and scrape a lucky win but that’s all it will be - a lucky win.

You are a prime example of why most of the country hates Newcastle supporters, you’re a bunch of deluded fuckwits. I would also hazard a guess that you’re not actually from Newcastle, you’re like a Sam Fender type who calls it his home town because you want to belong.
