Durham’s duty in my opinion is ti give lads in the area a chance to play first class cricket, that’s why it exists

The ecb fucked us and we were set back and had to get some good cricketers signed to improve results and the environment

But we still need local lads in. Otherwise we’d have had a county pro playing ahead of Potts the last few years as at the time he would have been better

When borthwick first player as a 17 year old or whatever was he the very best cricketer we could have attracted and played? Absolutely not. Same with Rocky and countless others

I think arguably he might have got in the middle order if Dickson and Jones game kicked on, he's useful with bat and ball

Hope he can get alot of games in the white ball stuff

No I'm not why not give young talented players a chance rather than overseas by your logic we should

I think an error Durham have made in the past is blooding when they're not ready mentally for the rigours of 1st class cricket. Far better let them develop in premier league and 2nd XI cricket,then progress to RL50 which is intended to be a development pathway. Only when they have excelled at that level should they progress to 1st class cricket. If they're early twenties by then so be it.

Absolutely, tbf, I was even just talking about people suggesting dropping Trev for a journeymen spinner.
