CC :: Durham v Leicestershire

With 10 overs to go there's been 194 runs scored today - one for the purists as they say.

At least its 10°C warmer sitting now in the Co Durham Lower than the shadows of the Don Robson.:eek:

As already said that was hard work just watching today and chucked it at 5pm. Still can't quite get my head around what we where trying to achieve this morning after we didn't get that final batting point.
Good on Leicestershire I honestly thought they would still just fold in the afternoon session but in Asad they definitely have an old fashioned opening bat.
Not sure if it was just me and I haven't been at the ground as much as normally I would over the past couple of seasons for obvious reasons but walking around behind the stands the place felt like a bit of a dump with various stuff piled up.
Then again it might be that I missed a cracking days play yesterday and today endured one's.

Maybe I'm just being soft but I don't get the critics. Given how little trouble we could give them I'm not sure why people wanted us to hoy the bat at everything and get out swinging

When I got to the ground yesterday afternoon the wicket seemed to be mainly green tinged. Today it had more of a straw colour to it, so it should be easier to bat on now as shown by Leicestershire. Last 2 sessions have been hard work to watch. Slow run rate and only 2 wickets. At this rate Leicestershire should be on par by about lunchtime on Sunday.

Thought Badger should have bowled himself, but doubt it would have made much difference. Young Gibson looks like he could develop into a useful bowler. Saw a video of him a few years back and he bowled really quick. Also was talking about getting into England Under 19’s back then so doesn’t seem to lack confidence.

The ground is a tip, I mentioned this yesterday. I'm not sure what people have been doing over winter to be honest. Heard a few people mention this today along with the stream issues yesterday. Still not received one of our membership cards and was told it hasn't been processed and it will be done next week and ready to be collected next week, so we have to use last season's card tomorrow. All seems seems a tad poor and I hate to say that but the state of the ground is unacceptable and where the blame lies I'll leave to others to decide. I like to shout about the good things the club do, but I only think it's fair to share what I deem to be negative aspects also. As for the cricket today, it was a very difficult watch from the start of the day and I'm still narked we didn't get that bonus point this morning. I left with about 6 overs to go and I'm surprised I lasted that long to be honest, ground was almost empty by this point. The quality of the wicket needs to be questioned, that won't get people in to watch county cricket.

Frustrating day for the bowlers, hopefully there’ll be a bit of cloud cover tomorrow to help them. New ball due inside the first hour too so a couple of chances to get stuck into the batsmen.

For all the bowlers didn’t get a great deal of reward (and I too worry we’re a bit samey at times) they were fairly stingy with runs and so Leicestershire haven’t really gone anywhere. They’ll have to bat for pretty much all of tomorrow to reach parity and so the pressure is still on them.

Hopefully Day 3 is moving day ;).
