In the world's second largest economy?

Was he a known offender when we employed him? No. So moot point. You knowinglynplayed Johnson having even seen the messages. And your fans chanted his name aware of the charges he faced
Nice to see that this **** had free reign whilst I was banned for 2 months for nothing.

Musk sticking the boot in ?
Is the directly vs indirectly question with regards to the PiF?

Would be an interesting can of worms opened on the NUFC side of things if KSA needed to argue that there is no distinction between KSA and their PiF in this Twitter context.

Investment funds (like the mags are adamant PIF are) want a return on their investment. They aren't going to get that squandering hundreds of millions on players and wages to maybe one day get into the Champions League.

They provided funds to make sure they got in the league and they'll try and sell for a profit in the years to come.

True this. If anything, them buying the gravy swillers has only highlighted their atrocities even more. So cant be "let's buy a club to pretend we're really nice".

Of course some fools think they can sit them round a table and change them. For example Neville.

Check my posts.....sold in summer 2026 to possibly another Saudi company "asked" to buy it. PiF save face by selling at a profit. Queen Mandy won't be welcome at SJP post next January window when the fans realise they have been had.

This. They invested in Disney etc and sold their shares when they made a profit.
Despite oil being at an all-time high it has a very limited shelf-life and this fund is to ensure their nation remains one of the richest on earth. I'm fairly sure that play doesn't involve losing a billion on Newcastle just on order to compete in the top half of the table.
If they don't win anything in the 5 years Slavery previously mentioned I wouldn't be surprised to see them selling for a profit to save face.
The sportswashing has been achieved with half a billion or so already.

They only want a team that tries though, that's what they said

How long before we see Saudi flag burning outside SJP?
I'll guess end of pre season 2022/23 when Callum Wilson and old man Trippier are both out for 3 months and Chris Wood continues to be...... well, Chris Wood.

So there's now nearly 3 months that have passed since the NUFC supporters trust appeared to rig a vote to give £210k of mag fans money to charity. Still no sign of the money, not even an update. Are we at the point now that it can just be concluded that its been pinched?

There's absolutely no way this would be an acceptable way to look after other people's money in any other context. But as Newcastle United are involved, all normal standards of behaviour can be ignored, and their Supporters Trust can operate in the ethical black hole that the entire club now seems so comfortable with.

I posted the below 4 weeks ago about this.

I am indeed deeply suspicious about this, and have held my suspicions about that fundraising effort since the day it was started. I said as much here back in August, after observing a number of other mag fan groups attempting to rip of their fellow supporters. This was the biggest pile of money, so was always going to be the biggest potential problem area of the lot

The Supporters Trust had already disgraced themselves with a number of awful statements regarding the takeover by the time 'the pledge' was launched in April 2021. The worst was contained in the statement accompanying the petition that was signed by 130k mags, which said that MbS was an ally of the UK government and Royal family, was a human rights reformer, and was integral to the UK's covid19 response. That shows you what type of characters were in charge of this.

The first thing that struck you about 'the pledge' was what an absolutely stupid idea it was. Ashley had no obligation to sell them anything, and owning 1% of the club would give no influence over anything anyway. So anybody could see that any money raised would never be used for its intended purpose, and to my mind there were serious questions about the character of the people overseeing it. It also wasn't a 'pledge' as its name suggested - the money wasn't pledged - the trust were actually holding it.

In January they announced that there was no point in it anymore, and they would be voting on what to do with the money, with their preferred option being to give it to charity. Why vote on it? Surely its obvious that if it isn't going to be spent on what it was raised for, then it should just be returned to the donors - they can donate it to charity if they want.

Some of your fans complained that there was only about 2 days to vote, they were only notified via one email, and if they weren't in the trust then they were never even contacted. Unsurprisingly the outcome was to give it to charity. Not the worst outcome, but the way it was handled would make anyone suspicious.

Since then there's been nothing - not even an update in nearly 7 weeks. Where is the money being held? How much interest has it gathered? What was done with that interest? A holiday for the leading Trust members? Has someone blown it all feeding a gambling addiction? No one knows.

Now it seems that a very obvious opportunity to donate to a worthwhile cause has passed without comment from the trust. More and more people will draw their own conclusions the longer this goes on.

It looks likely that yet again we will be forced to conclude that some Newcastle United supporters with a public profile will have behaved absolutely disgracefully, in full view of everyone, and yet again it is just going to be accepted because the behaviour is linked to the football club.

That’s now 3 months since the mags supporters trust decided to rig a vote with the outcome that £210k of their members money would be given to charity, rather than returned to the idiots who donated it to “buy a share in the club”.

In 3 months they haven’t even provided an update on what they’re doing with it, let alone actually distribute the money.

Imagine if this was SAFC. Can you imagine any other organisation in the north east getting away with something like this, and barely a comment passed by anyone? £210k of supporter’s money that is supposed to be donated to charity simply disappears, and no one says a word!

How much interest has that money gathered now? Will it simply be pocketed by someone so they can have a holiday? Is the money even still there? Or has someone with a gambling problem lost it? No one knows!

I was going to say it’s unbelievable, but it isn’t really - it was entirely predictable given the character of the leading mags supporters, and I predicted something underhand would happen as soon as the idiotic idea was announced last August.

The fact is, anyone connected with NUFC can operate in a moral black hole. While Di Canios appointment is met with outrage by Caulkin and co, mass murderers are cheered to the rafters at the mags.

Maybe Caulkin would do a concerned article if SAFC fans pinched a load of charity money. I doubt he’ll have much to say about the mags missing money though - if a mag on this forum is correct, then Saint George is supposed to be one of the people responsible for it!
