Booing prior to the kick off.

The Welsh (Welsh: Cymry) are an ethnic group native to Wales. "Welsh people" applies to those who were born in Wales (Welsh: Cymru) and to those who have Welsh ancestry, perceiving themselves or being perceived as sharing a cultural heritage and shared ancestral origins.

But we've been told that taking the knee isn't only about racism.

Therefore booing isn't automatically racist.

Ethnicity and race aren't the same thing.

Whole things pointless by everyone in involved on all sides. No idea why people get bothered by it, no idea why people boo it and no idea why people think it’s having any positive impact at all either. Whole things stupid and needs scrapping, and probably replacing with some actual action against discrimination
Actual action is too much to ask. Like someone mentioned earlier, people are more than happy to take the knee but when it comes to actual action ie boycotting Qatar - not a chance

Watch out for that hole you're digging.

Ethnicity refers to the identification of a group based on a perceived cultural distinctiveness that makes the group into a “people.”

What hole? There is a difference between ethnicity and race.

It's pretty straightforward.

Don't worry, bores head will give you his little xenophobic story about Australians and South Africans to prove our point!

You'd think his googling around would lead him to the point that ethnicity and race are different and render his anecdotal evidence worthless yet here we are...

Yes you're right.

Seems like me and the United Nations had it wrong all along

"According to a , there is no distinction between the terms "racial" and "ethnic" discrimination."

Do you not think it’s weird how it’s only 5 seconds long and you are standing watching each players reaction?

People just love to be outraged
It's a matter not of outrage but of celebration. I think it's nice if our players express their support.

It's brilliant.whether it's xenophobia like bears head describes, racism, misogynism, bigotry. The knee gesture is against ALL types of discrimination. That's why we should get behind it.

So your anecdote about your interactions Australians and South Africans are you admitting you're a racist now if you're now claiming they are no different?

The Union Flag in your avatar was a slight giveaway to be fair.

That Wikipedia article is saying both racial and ethnic discrimination are the same level of abhorrent, by the way. Which I fully agree with as all prejudice is ignorance.

Not that there is no difference between race and ethnicity.

Are we still allowed to boo certain national anthems or is that also frowned upon by the snowflake brigade ..
Some precious little cherubs attend ( or do they) matches nowadays .
Absolutely spurious argument. You can have a basic level of respect for other people and not be a snowflake, which frankly like pc and woke are now just de facto derogatory terms thrown about by people to describe a person who challenges their prejudice.

But you're allowed to boo or say something and people are allowed to argue against it. It's how it always worked and still does.
