People who aren't renewing

Status
Not open for further replies.

If a group of 6 in the back row of an L block (ideally with an aisle seat) aren’t renewing, let me know please! Trying to move some seats.

Read the opening post ffs. He wants to know who HASN’T renewed and why?

I don’t think the posts in the thread that are confirming they have renewed also stop others who haven’t renewed from posting?

You’ve not contributed either way with this post.

So more relevantly, have you renewed/purchased or not (and why), or are you still deciding?

If undecided, It’s possible you looked at this thread to help in making your mind up, and so I (as I assume the OP did) expect the rationale of all schools of thought were helpful, not just those that didn’t renew.

Have you actually read why he created this thread? Here it is below.

“A renewal thread usually descends into loads of replies of 'I've renewed”'.

He wants replies from non renewals only. Surely you grasp that?

I do grasp. Thanks.

I’m sure you grasp how this, or any other forum, works, right?

By the specific quote you point out, it’s suggested that this is an often asked topic/thread - that often gets the same responses - yet you’re expecting different results. I don’t think you can blame the respondents in that scenario.

So I think we can either ….

be grateful for the responses which folk have taken the time out to provide, which offer a valuable comparator as to whether ‘many’ have not renewed or not - which is actually a crucial part of the original question - and ‘many’ by definition is subjective.

…Or come up with a different/original way of asking the question, that doesn’t lead to the same responses each time.

Oh, and I’ve you renewed or not?

I was thinking of not bothering, I've missed loads of games due to them being rearranged into evenings I'm at work and at the start of the season because my shifts are sorted and I cannot put in requests for days off ages before the fixtures are released. Think I've missed about 5 or 6 home games as a result and I'm not bothering today cos I'm sick of watching the utterly useless twats so I'm going to the lakes instead.
The club have renewed my ticket automatically and while I'm sat here thinking I should cancel it I know I won't

As I said earlier, the renewers constantly hijack threads to proudly show their Uberism. I dare say a fair few flunked their GCSEs because they didnt bother reading the question.
I think that misses the point.

There are the “direct debit trap” element as you will have observed how in the modern economy Chancers looove to sign you up on a direct debit knowing how many people forget to cancel/ they can make it bloody hard to cancel once a consumer wants out

The current owners of our club being exactly these sort of a**ehole Chancers you can be sure they will be pushing Direct Debits for all they are worth.

Luckily I am not on direct debit

Don’t need their cheap “early bird” discount

And intend to give it some long hard thought

I want these Chancers out of the club and reckon denying them any cash necessary is one way to do that

Push them on to their knees so they have to accept the lowest price possible - ideally an offer from a fans trust but I don’t underestimate the challenge in doing that

Meanwhile they have asset stripped the squad to the point that we currently have one fit striker going in to the run offs, automatics are beyond us with their nonsensical charade of sacking the manager and signing a retired striker with 8 minutes on the pitch this season and following this up with selling Kimpioka WITHOUT any sign of paying for a replacement striker.

So I’m going to watch how we get on for the rest of the season and then make a decision once I see which league we are playing in and how much the Chancers invest in the squad in the summer window.

Fail in the play offs or fail to get into the play offs and then sell Stewart/Neil/Patterson/ONein and they can whistle for my money

Gloves are off

Agreed. In a similar position. Currently feel I’m 95-5 against renewing for my son and me.

The board need a kick up the ass. I can’t go now but I doubt very much that I would anyway. Thrre are limits, they deserve a shock, whats the point with no real ambition, talk is cheap and that’s all they do.

I'm puzzled about all this tbh.

I'm not sure why KLD would spend his winter traipsing around grounds like Crewe, spending money and attracting the wrath of supporters if he has no ambition.

What does he hope to get out of being at SAFC in your opinion?

It will, and where do you draw the line?
I, like many football fans, feel it a sort of "Right of passage" to support my football team, it should always be affordable.
Chairmen of whatever club are quick to praise "Their" supporters, whitter on of loyalty, patience and steadfastness etc, then price a fair few out of doing what they are praising them for doing.
I look around hillsborough, 15000 empty sodding seats!!
come the "Big games" like promotion from this league a few years ago, and theres 40'000 in....
Still some were moaning at other folk for walkin' up the Kop, staring at the ticket, saying "Is this row so and so"?
as though they were bloody lepers or something, or some sort of retutrning traitor, bloody ludicrous
someone sits next to me and hasn't been to Hillsborough for 10 years, I'll say
"Welcome back mate"
You don't know their circumstances, you dunno the bills that roll through their sodding letter box every month..His wife might be a Blade, He might have been out of work
But there some season ticket holders sit, smirking that theres only 15k in and enjoying the leg room if not the atmosphere, wondering why its quiet and we are losing to whoeverthefook
Self defeating nonsense

To those who think they have had enough, and don't renew their SC I get that.
But if we don't get 23,000 SC next season in Div 1, the club will be sold again, or we could go bang.
We can not afford another season down here, Derby aware, that's what will happen. IMHO

Well I know very little, if anything, about KLD and have never heard him speak

Here is one possibility though: you want an ego trip owning a fairly well known English football club with a fantastic ground and around 30,000 regulars but don’t want to pay top dollar buying Everton or Leeds or Aston Villa? Then for a fraction of the price you chip in with a pair of absolute Chancers and with a bit of luck promotion might see you in the clear? In the mean time spend as little as possible and sell off anything not nailed down to keep expenses under control

You don’t even need to spend much on PR as the suckers won’t see through you ... according to the Chancers at least

Doesn't sound much of an ego trip tbh.

And it's a big risk to end up with a moderate profit or a club you can't sell because the climate has changed.

There's a theory that simply being a Championship club, with a barely adequate squad and the need to rebuild, will have eager buyers queuing round the block.

Yet there are plenty of Championship clubs you could buy and eliminate the risk of having to gain promotion from L1.

Anyway, your theory is no worse than dozens of others so, who knows, you might be spot on.
