Wrestling - Part 3

Well that's me even more depressed. I did see money inc Vs Steiners but wasn't there for this and missed Savage and Razor. Bollocks.

I did get to see Virgil do a rest hold for about ten minutes and bore everyone to tears, though.

Sounds like you were at the same show as me. Virgil beat Terry Taylor in the opener. April 19th 1993

I can't even remember who he wrestled. I may have nodded off. I only went to 2, I think Diesel lost to 123 kid by count out, Yoko lost to Brett by DQ. They've blurred into one now.

They did a few shows at the Ice Rink in 93/94. I just remember that one fondly as it was my first ever live show. One had Bret and Flair in an iron man match

Im sure im in the minority here but im finding myself fast forwarding through AEW rampage/dynamite like i have been doing with WWE for years.
I personally think it’s been at its best in the past 6 months albeit with a few flat things here and there but it just depends on what you enjoy, people like certain things others don’t, as most know I think wwe is dogshit and I can’t watch it (probably watch sports entertainment mania and summerslam from now on) but I can sit and watch AEW and NJPW no problem.
If your in to pure wrestling I’d suggest New Japan if you haven’t watched it.

Fk me. Are you just going to name everyone I'd like to have seen live now? Did Andre have a match with Perfect?
No, but they teamed together at survivor series 88. I've done loads of house shows, too many to list. Best wrestling related thing I have ever done was the nWo reunion in 2018 in Florida which is where I met Hogan, Hall, Nash, Bischoff, Jimmy Hart and Conrad Thompson. I planned to go to Wrestlemania 30 but got the missus pregnant so that put a stop to that haha.

Was anyone else at this?

I was there but I can't remember much about it now. My main memories are:

Flair had lost some kind of retirement match on TV before this so it was confusing to a kid who believed it was all real why he was there at all.

The finish of the Nasty Boyz Vs Money Inc. involved some sort of work whereby everyone thought the Nasties had won the titles, they had the belts and were celebrating with the crowd and everything until it turned out they hadn't won after all. Everyone was going absolutely crazy celebrating their win, I don't think we could believe we'd seen a title change hands in Whitley Bay!

It took *forever* to get out of the car park afterwards.

I genuinely can't remember the Undertaker match which I'm pretty sad about now as I loved that version 🤣

Seriously looking forward to Sunday, Reigns v Lesnar has serious Austin v Rock vibes about it.. 2 absolute big names and in today's society of spoilers and easily predicting outcomes there's none of that in this one which adds to the tension

I think the Saturday card is alot weaker than the Sunday one, but if Cody Rhodes ends up being the mystery opponent it will bump up the overall rating of the Saturday card but there's nothing which excites me other than what Pete Dunne aka "Butch" might do on Day 1.

Well FTR v The Briscoes was everything I wanted and more (even the after match segment was class) definitely match of the year contender and easily match of the year so far, fkn class.
