well, you couldn't then buy $10,000 put it that way...
 could i go to Russia with $10k and start buying all the country assets. Then when Russia finds it feet again i can sell it all back at a massive increase (didnt a load of KGP lads do this in the 90's?)

yeah, that's how all of the oligarchs got rich. they divided up all of the states assets put their mates (or anyone they could 'trust') in charge of them and took a cut of the profits.

this view of Londongrad is tremendous:

Back on point i think they'd take your $10k and put you in jail on espionage charges

Great video, thank you. I done a presentation on Roman Abramovich as part of a course in my military days. So I understood how he got rich but seeing how it was laundered afterwards is really interesting.

How much money in tax does the UK make from this? Like how fucked will we be if we put an end to it? Also how much does that affect the housing market? i know they are buying ridiculous top end value houses, but it must play a part when it trickles dowm

Also thinking back to when i worked in the Black Mountains, the locals were always complaining about houses being bought by foreigners who never live in them. Is that just the same process but at a small scale?

I'm no expert at all but from what i gather there's little tax benefit of having this money wash through London. some institutions (banks etc) who service all of these transactions will benefit. i'm sure the top end london property market might soften as well but again that won't affect the average person.
it's not just russian money either, it's money from all over the world.

money doesn't trickle down either, that's a complete myth. the grand-niece of walt disney said about Trump's US tax cuts for the super rich which was just a way for people like her to buy another super yacht.

It’s very strange. Nobody seems to know for sure, and it can’t really stand for anything: that’s not how a Cyrillic Z is written (Z in Russian looks somewhat like the numeral 3). That character is not a letter in Russian.

To prevent blue on blue (shooting each other by mistake)

Same reason ukrainians have yellow armbands.

It a very old practice during the English Civil Wars when the concept of a distinctive uniform only extended to particular bodies of troops Parliamentary soldiers who like many of their Royalist counter parts wore their own clothes would put a sprig of rosemary in their hats.

The truth?. I have blood on my hands. I’m to blame for this? Get a f***ing life man a loon. The only blood I have on my hands is for this country and a labour government. What a disgusting thing to say.
Any tory accepting dodgy Russian money has blood on their hands and anyone defending it likewise. You dont need me to prove how daft you are people read your posts.
Why is it, the Tories and so called ‘Tory boys’ are you primary concern in the current climate?
If you dance with the devil you deserve everything you get.

I think you're extremely confused about who devil the is in all of this tbh.
You are definitely. The tories accepted dodgy Russian money which enabled the Russians to buy influence. That money won the tories elections.

Given what the Russians (the devil to keep it simple for you) are doing now its only right to ask questions on what that money bought in terms of the government of this country.

Of course the tory boys on here say its not relavenat. If I was in thier shoes (God forbid) I wouldnt want this brought to attention either.

French elections are coming up.
Macron isn't super popular with the French atm due to his Covid-mishandling

It's all ego boosting for him. He's been doing some weird shit like changing the shade of blue on the French flag to make it more patriotic
“Macron isn’t super popular”

He’s on 28% approval - almost double his nearest rival

This sort of thing really bothers me. The rule isn't "well he did this so fuck him"

We have to still be the bigger man and commit to what we preach. I'm hearing a lot of stuff like "fuck them, they invaded" while yes this is true, we cannot allow ourselves to go outside of any law or agreement we have in place.
And the man who did it has been arrested, and will likely be charged and taken through the Irish courts for what they did.

But can you not see the screaming hypocrisy of a Russian embassy wailing about the inhumanity of its gates being pulled off when they are engaged in trying to gaslight the world about their state blowing the limbs off children? That's more the point here.

all losses here are documented with evidence:

in iraq or afghanistan there were lots of imbedded journalists. there seems to be a lack of that here, bear in mind the sky tv team that were attacked the other day and lucky to get out alive.
Russia likes to control the media and the message.
The Ukraine military are seemingly conducting effective missions behind the Russian front line, so again they don't want a team of jouros tagging along.

they haven't lost that many aircraft in truth, though 10 in one day was exceptional.
Thanks mate. Had the site saved but your explanation makes sense.

of course i see that. My issue isnt just with that one specific case either. There's loads of it happening and we need to remind ourselves that we have to follow the example we demand

Is there? Sources?

If we were talking about the indiscriminate targeting of anyone Russian who's living here or anywhere other than Russia then that would be very wrong and I would be disgusted at the perpetrator. However, we're not. We're talking about the staff of a vile regime in complete denial about the atrocities they're committing taking a massively hypocritical stance over a gate being damaged in a special parking operation.

one thing i keeping thinking on is what life is like for the russians who have now been deployed for a couple of weeks, plus their pre-deployment in holding areas etc..
That's a few weeks without 'fresh' food, a shower, clean clothes, sleeping rough, cold, wet, dealing with shit equipment, poor communications, breakdowns, getting on each other's nerves...

never mind having to actually fight or fight off the ukrainians and deal with losses & casualties.
after a week on exercise i was pissed off and ready to fuck off back to barracks. moral will be really low, particularly with the conscripts.
usually you'd pull back troops for R&R and replace them but that's hard to do when you're stuck in a 60km traffic jam.
Most likely on the last roll of big paper too
