anyone seen this yet? allegedly a group of russian POWs. they all worked in education in some way (teachers/admin). according to them they were told to report for mandatory conscription for 'a few days' just prior to the invasion. none of them had any prior military training or experience... literally cannon fodder. no wonder they're giving up without much effort.

Awful for them, but the problem is what do you believe they will all become teachers or what not once they are captured I’ve no doubt that some of those will be genuine but some of these attacks by Russians don’t happen with soldiers with 3 days training.

I would certainly be saying the same if I was captured in this situation
 
The West cannot use military force, economic sanctions are the only option IMHO
I think the only way to stop him is for the Russian people to oust him, blocking Facebook and Twitter will make a lot of people unhappy, (look what happened when it went down a couple of months ago) stopping them from getting money out of the banks will really hurt, when they see the everyday things that have been taken away they may turn against him.

They cannot keep their stock market closed forever - they're going to get a hell of a shock when it finally reopens if Putin continues with this lunacy

The west may have to use military force soon mate that’s the problem one no one wants but the American army ain’t flying up and down the border just to deliver stuff they are their ready for combat.

Putins invasion isn’t going 100% to plan and if it gets worse the casualties or civilians are going to be even mental,

The best option for any troops would be UN peacekeeping or UN evacuation of civilians.

No one wants a world war no one wants to be nuked Russians in honesty don’t even look like they want to fight.it’s putins war and he’s looking shot to bits.

We need to see how he acts in the next few days/weeks.

A no fly zone will be constantly discussed as Ukraine are asking for it nato won’t yet give it but they may give in it the shelling and bombardment gets worse.

Israel could be a major player in this now meeting all.

If putin continues to stall he would be open for more talks I mean some are due to happen tomorrow.

I know what ever the outcome the people of Ukraine will never forgive Russia and the people of Russia will struggle financially for a long while.

at best by their age they could be reserves that have been called up. they certainly look way too old to be your average squadie on the ground. they do look a bit dad's army/rag-tag.

Aye agreed but like I said if I was captured I would be a teacher or a milk man or some sort.😂

27 is the max age for conscripts usually in Russia. Why it also makes me doubt that.

Russia has acted like a state terrorist. They have invaded a sovereign state, murdered civilians and threatened the world with nuclear annihilation.

There should be no question of lifting any sanctions until they have left Ukraine including the Crimea and Putin has been removed from office. There should be no support until they give up their nuclear weapons.

Chasing them from conquered territories will be difficult enough, as will removing Putin.

Getting them to relinquish their nuclear arsenal will be impossible.

So sad, have to feel for them really. Forced to fight in a war nobody, apart from Putin wants.
