Wechat and alipay are probably 90 percent of all transactions i see in Shanghai now, i personally use it for pretty much everything now even beggars and buskers have QR codes so you can pay them via wechat or alipay. It can be used outside of China but only by Chinese Nationals i believe, i know mine only works inside China.

The Russians may possibly defeat the Ukraine military in the short term due to shear weight of numbers and the will to use extreme violence but I can’t see them winning a war as such. 40 million Ukrainians in an area over double the size of the UK with tons of small, light weight anti tank and anti aircraft weapons, plus small arms flooding into the country.
An extended and stretched Russian occupation force with the obvious logistical, equipment and comms issues they have.

As well as the sanctions the world has taken against Russia.
Unfortunately I fear many, many more Ukrainians may be killed before he’s stopped.

Both nations will face supply chain issues in the coming days/weeks, but fortunately Ukraine now has access to more armaments, munitions and essential supplies, whilst Russia will struggle under the weight of sanctions.
I think the only realistic endgame now is for Russians to turn on Putin, whether military or civilian, but as you say, a lot more deaths between now and then sadly.

As for other comments on rebuilding Russia and helping it develop. Once Putin is gone then absolutely we invest to make it a stable normal democracy. But if it is still a nation of oligarchs and oppressive autocrats then we shouldn’t give it a single penny.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of the street protests planned in Russia today. Thoughts are with all who are directly impacted by Putin’s War. I just hope the Russians love their children too. I’m sure they do.🇺🇦

I have WeChat which I use to communicate with Chinese clients. The Money feature is not enabled and states only available for CYN customers.

Why Russian people deserve and should be punished with sanctions?



This post is for my friends abroad on what’s happening in Ukraine. My family is from Kharkiv and we had to flee. My parents and friends are still under severe bombarding. I fear for their lives.



Please keep on reading. It’s long but it’s worth it.



First of all, this whole “conflict” is an artificial creation of Russian authorities. It all started with Russian invasion of Ukraine 8 years ago in 2014 when they occupied our peninsula of Crimea and then the eastern region of Donbas. Russian armed forces arrived to Crimea and held a referendum to join Russia. Just imagine this! A neighbour country army arrives to you and holds a referendum. In Donbas, Russian forces captured our police and then the local television and started broadcasting their propaganda.



So what is their propaganda? They say that Ukrainians were killing Russian speaking people in Ukraine. This is not true! This is absurd! My family and millions of other families speak Russian and no one even one time was against it. There was total peace before Russian militaries arrived. We people of Ukraine wanted democracy on our land, we wanted to join EU, and Russia saw this as a threat to them. Instead of dealing with their own domestic problems, they decided to direct people’s attention to an artificially created “conflict” in a neighbour country.



And now what? Russian government now closes all media that can threaten their propaganda. I’m monitoring what Russian people share on social media. And what they do? They say we deserve this war because we were killing people of Donbas. Not all of them, but the majority. Some say that they civilians are innocent because they cannot do anything to change the regime. Why were they so happy to take our Crimea, why were they spending their vacations on this occupied territory, why didn’t they stand against it?



Many Russians have imperial ambitions just like their president Putin. They voted for him and didn’t do anything to remove him. They should take responsibility for his actions now. They should take responsibility for the actions of their army that is bombarding our civilians. That’s why they should be punished, with severe sanctions so that they finally clear their heads from propaganda and imperial ambitions. This war should STOP. Russians have to stop this war.



Are there any limits to human stupidity? We should learn ourselves and teach our kids to be critical and to analyze information. There are flaws in Russian propaganda all over, it lacks simple logic.
