And yet it’s Brexiters who don’t want the report into Russian influence in British politics to be published, Brexiters who think there’s no corruption when Russians spend £2.3 million on the Tories, Brexiters who happily spread Russian misinformation on the EU while simultaneously saying Russia is propagating a propaganda war in Ukraine, Brexiters who don’t want Trump’s links to putin exposed but will happily spread the misinformation about Biden and Ukraine.

Wonder why that is.

I honestly have no idea what any of that means, marra. Maybe that makes me ignorant or even thick. I said the other week that politics across Europe and America has been a circus for the last decade. That's regardless of what side of the divide, or political views they have. Right wing groups in Eastern Europe, The B word, a bigot becoming president of the world's most powerful country unchallenged, a Labour leader being militant and destroying any credibility the opposition had, the Tories and their corruption, Macron travelling around trying to be pally with people, then there's the pandemic. The list goes on. My point was that people are constantly arguing that their side is whiter than white. The truth is Putin has sat back and watched the lot of squabbling and burning their house down. The blood is well and truly on his hands, but anyone outside of Russia can hardly claim to be the saviour.
 
more abandoned russian gear. on the second image the wagon has 2 antenna, which means it's some command vehicle. 2 antenas means it will be talking over 2 radio networks, like at a troop level and a squadron/regimental level.

the first one doesn't have any radio antena at all, so either it's been taken off (doubtful) or it was playing "follow my leader".

Fair point. But it started on the politics forum. It’s just a pity that a thread providing good information and debate about the war in Ukraine is being hijacked by some to make party political and pro / anti Brexit points.
 

Mariupol evacuation postponed​

Reuters has this update on the partial ceasefire in Mariupol:

Authorities in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol said an evacuation of civilians planned for Saturday had been postponed as Russian forces encircling the city were not respecting an agreed ceasefire.

In a statement, the city council asked residents to return to shelters in the city and wait for further information on evacuation.

Mariupol’s deputy mayor told BBC News about the difficulties faced by the city’s civilians who were attempting to evacuate.

It started in there but that was in December but things have changed dramatically since then. It was moved and I think the reason was because it's for the benefit of the whole of RTG to keep up to date with the latest goings on in Ukraine. That will no doubt include many people (also many who aren't politically minded) who can't watch the all news channels all day or scour Tw@tter for the latest updates so they come here when they can as it's a great source of information (normally).

I don't think this thread is supposed to be fluffed up by those with strong political views to keep regurgitating their views as it's got a bigger audience. It often goes off on a tangent filling the thread with stuff that could be discussed in the politics forum. It can also end up with tit for tat with the latest being about Brexit (yet again) and someone has now brought the suject of Russian influence on the government (yet again).

Just hoy this thread back in the politics forum and let people go at it as it's clear their ignoring Pancho's request. For those who don't want to read all the soapbox political blatherings there could be a Latest News/Updates thread in the SMB forum.

If I recall correctly, at their defence of Stalingrad, the Russian officers stood at the rear, pointing guns at their soldiers backs and shot anyone who refused to go forward.

It started on the politics board as that's the logical place for it but then it was full of people who never venture into the politics forum (me included) so it was moved as it contains loads of up to date relevant videos and twitter posts etc. I skim through now and see it's just full of text posts full of Brexit arguments. It's easy enough to block people like that though and it definitely tidies the thread up

Ukrainian media report that a member of Ukrainian delegation at Gomel peace talks, Denys Kireyev, was killed by SBU as security agents tried to capture him on suspicion of high treason. He is reportedly linked to elements in the ex-president Yanukovych’s government.
