The bellend raab made that point on bbc news this week when he was challenged on why the eu had sanctioned more people, he said it was was about impact rather than quantity.

What he was probably meaning though is they couldn’t sanction people invested in the Torag party.

One thing in Ukraine’s favour in their ability to fight is they have had a pretty aggressive mandatory military service since the start of 2015. Looks like it was backdated then too that anyone under 27 would have to spend at least 1 year, with many doing 18 months or more of military service. Most Eastern European countries had large numbers doing it anyway even when not mandatory.

So there will probably be a very decent number of younger males who have gone through it. Plus they made it mandatory for females in December too.

When we hear about arming civilians, the civil defence force and other reservists most of them will have gone through professional military service.

They won’t have seen actual combat but it’s still not like handing a rifle to the average Brit who hasnt got a clue. 12-18 months of full time training they will have a decent ability at least in the basics

I doubt any families will see that money. Wagner Group operators are supposed to have a death in service payment that goes to their families. The families from those killed in Syria got f all.

Well I've never been to India so can only report what one of my oldest pals told me. It has been known for people to show a different face to someone if they believe your feom a different country - which is why he continued to feign being Russian.
 
IBM won’t sell any technology into Russia. After Microsoft they are still the biggest business tech platform provider. Oracle have already pulled out. Not sure on SAP but those 4 are critical to most companies ability to operate

Indians are not inhospitable people at all, although the political environment is changing for the worse.

If anything, they welcome foreigners because their attempts to try and get your money and sell you stuff is over the top.
