Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

the russians will know to that level at a minimum, it's quite high level. what it doesn't say is where the individual units are, where they're headed, what strength they currently are etc
👍I didn't check the link, just the headline... I've been told off that before 😊

Do we give more respect to Russia than they deserve
We now the Russians are devious and cunning but do we think they are cleverer than they are
Is it a perception they have perpetuated but when it comes to the crunch they are pretty rudimentary in their tactics and their equipment

The opposite of appeasement is war so that also 'ends up in war'.
Yes, but sooner rather than later. Better to go in now and crush the invasion, rather than waiting until Ukraine is a fully occupied wasteland after a genocide, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia are occupied and Putin is attacking Finland and the Baltics.

How many countries invaded and how far west would Russia have to get before you wonder whether we should have done something?

Agreed.

Article 5 is a clear line drawn in the sand.

Much like Putins threats of reprisals should the west get to involved in Ukraine.

These deterrents need to be tested to see if they're worth their salt, but I'd imagine they'd be enough of a deterrent to prevent such a thing happening.

Estonia would be the test. Ex USSR, small, weak, makes nothing of note, has no resources.

Given Russian policy on nuke usage, us shooting down Russian planes or shooting their troops represents a clear breach of one of their qualifications for using a nuke.

Its an awful situation but an impossible one unless you're prepared for WW3.

There has to be a few options between the below two options other than lets stop selling Russain Vodka in our supermarkets:

A) Let Putin murder whoever he likes and take whichever countries he likes

and

B) The end of the world

I don't know what these options are but then again I'm not qualified to come up with all the answers.

Oh so listen to the people from oppressed societies *unless you disagree with them*. Such integrity  At least we can clear up that hypocrisy.

It's not a caricature. Government are literally passing legislation to make protesting
illegal, to increase the requirements to vote, to making a disturbance that upsets someone an arrestable offence. That's genuinley happebing in 2022 in the UK.

It's a sad caricature alright but it's unfortunately a literal representation.

There are 180 countries listed on the international corruption perceptions index. The United Kingdom ranks 11. Meaning of the 179 other countries, only 10 exhibit less evidence of political and structural corruption that the U.K. 169 countries exhibit more.

So yes - you’re living in a fantasy caricature world.

This is not a corrupt country, an anti-democratic country, or a would-be fascist country. It’s absolutely incredible that I’ve had to actually explain that.

Shame there's no expiry date on Putin. Wishful thinking of course but he looks very unwell. If there was a known expiry date we'd do well to hold out and show a commitment to peace. When the time comes there'd be national celebrations all around Europe and we'd be united like never before. This could be just what our ever increasingly divided world needs, we just need to get through this darkest hour intact.
Rarely wish harm to others but in this case, aye the quicker he’s dead the better.

The Russians are masters of espionage surely there must be one willing to go rogue and turn on him

Cluster bombing hospitals because an independent sovereign state didn’t roll over to have its tummy tickled. Rudimentary and thuggish.

NATO should go in when NATO is attacked.
You mightn't like it mate but that's reality.

Russia has been shown up for what it is. Outdated tech, conscription, bullying, corruption, obsolescence, dysfunction.

But... They have nukes.

Any country could choose to go in when ever they want regardless of NATO.

We unilaterally went in to Iraq, which is in a better state than Syria where our MPs bottled it.

Britain and America could go in again, especially if we want to be seen as global leaders.
