Saw this story this morning, which others will no doubt have seen by now:

Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe have got behind a fundraising campaign for a Jesmond boy battling neuroblastoma.

The pair are urging Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC fans to donate what they can to help little Rocco Troiano, three, receive potentially life-saving treatment abroad.

Nice to see Defoe doing stuff like this again, and Shearer as well.

He needs another 80k. Newcastle Supporters Trust are currently holding 210k of fans money that they say they are “working to distribute to local charities” (and have apparently been doing this for more than 6 weeks now)

Surely there is a solution here?

There is indeed sir. I would hope they do something to help the lad. Alan could just write them a cheque also.
On this topic you do seem to be very suspicious of the true intentions regarding the £200k. Can I ask if your suspicions are founded on blind opinion, an attempt to score points here, or a real concern based on experience and facts?
My question is genuine, not having a pop. If it is the latter then do something about it before what you fear may happen, happens.

I'm gutted with what's happened. I'd prefer any other owners, the whole things a shit show and the comments yesterday by Staveley were horrendous. I never comment on PF normally but saying all NUFC fans are supporters of these arseholes is ridiculous. The club get no more money off me, I'm not that arsed actually as football has gone beyond a working class sport meant for everyone to a global cash machine where the 'elite' use it as a toy or worse still as a sports washing exercise. I mean the whole things is mad really. The child marriage thing - well what can you say that would describe how shit that is.

Been known about sartori’s links to the Rybolovlev since he joined the board for a quid. Hopefully he has no involvement in the club, I’d have been very surprised if he got involved anyway given sartorial brought in Louis-Dreyfus and not him, I would be even more surprised if it happened now.

Owners, directors test failed a long long time ago.
