Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

There has to be an unprecedented and urgent capital expenditure in Europe now, on nuclear power and other forms of energy self-sufficiency.

If Europe frees itself of reliance on Russian energy supplies, then it really will be in the power of the west to cripple Russia. Dual sanctions on Russias financial sector and energy sector could completely decimate the Russian economy at every level. It would be beyond China’s power to make up that shortfall.
Unlikely, Germany has been decommissioning its 16 nuclear reactors for 10 years or so, the last one was switched off this year

I always find it amazing, that throughout history, some jumped up individual can attain such power.Leading to the deaths of millions of innocent people.
The Human Race will never learn.
Yeah it's always a small mindless minority that cause pain and suffering for the innocent majority.

When this is over Putin will take his place in history right beside Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

They’re going to have to go in some sort of different direction, because continued reliance on Russian gas is off the table now morally and politically.

Which part don’t you believe?

A Conservative MP in the HoC yesterday mentioned the phrase ‘Londongrad’ and had several people in the House giving it the ‘yeeeessss’.

As for the links of the party of government and Putin (and his regime), take your pick of any number of pieces of indisputable evidence on that subject:

This is merely a start, it doesn’t even touch the tip of the base of the iceberg.

Western governments should have started that process in the 1970s when the Arab oil producers were being cock ends.

We also could have avoided some disastrous foreign policies.

We might not need to wait for Putin and his defence forces if these daft fuckers shell the Powerplant. It is many times more powerful then Chernobyl

Need to look towards EU for that to happen, 40% of their gas comes from Russia, within that fig Germany gets 50% of its gas from there and Hungary 80%
Yeah I knew Germany were high I just didn't want to start an UK v EU argument as none of us should be buying it from them, especially now when we are trying to stop them from bombing Ukraine to bits and we are funding Ukraine.

Read somewhere that they’ve started recommissioning coal fired stations, the greens who were behind nuclear closures won’t be pleased about that

We were self sufficient in oil and gas until someone spunked it on a disastrous economic policy
We paid 3m people to do nothing. Then sold all our utilities off so all profit goes to private individuals and not into keeping prices low and proper investment.

We now rely on Russian energy.

Tories strong on the economy though.

We don’t use a lot of Russian energy in the uk heard it’s 4% which would that really hit us that hard? I mean I could be wrong but I’m sure it’s 4% we use.

Interesting. Just before the 5 minute mark she explains how he did not eat or drink anything at a dinner, presumably for fear of being poisoined, he's even more paranoid than I imagined. I think Kevin Maguire once did an interview with ALS where he mentioned Abramovic's people contacting the club prior to an upcoming Chelsea match, one of the things they asked was has the local hospital got enough supply of his blood group?
