I’d prefer it if they just put a bullet in his head
Or a few droplets of novichok in his bedtime vodka.

That's part of what's odd about this, though. This is one of the later dominoes, not the earlier ones. The former Baltic republics of the USSR are already in the EU and NATO, and Finland and Sweden are in the EU. Like, the Baltic is already game over.Putin sees Ukraine looking to join the EU and the prospect of having a Western democracy on his doorstep as having his border being threatened as it would weaken his influence in the other Baltic states.
I think others get annoyed by him due to the way he sides more on the pro Russian side also not anti war admitted he would have a different opinion if it wasn’t Russia, I’ve no problem comrade cow but he can’t disguise where he stands on this.Tell me how? I don’t know and would be genuinely interested to see how you came to this conclusion
It isn’t though. He’s advocating no war. The sentiment is nice. If you don’t want people to comment on your thoughts don’t post them on a public discussion board.
I’ve gone through the same thoughts myself. He also will have a lot of friends and obv cares about the club. Like you say also he will have spoken to the rest of the people who have Russia’s money in their bank accounts and this to me suggests he’s backing Ukraine which is a good sign.If we take it at face value (and presumably we have to, given people would know if the funds didn't go where he said they will) then putin should be very worried. I thought abramovich was one of his closest allies, hell abramovich has bought yachts and all sorts for him. I don't think abramovich has suddenly become a lovely lad, but I can easily imagine that he knows which way the wind is blowing and doesn't want to be on Putin's side at the end of it. If he's thinking it, presumably other oligarchs are as well. And if they're thinking it, you'd have to imagine there'll be people on the military aiming to overthrow him, especially if they can be the golden boy for some of the richest people on earth. Probably an overly optimistic take but so fuck, we need a bit of positivity
Misha Glenny’s McMafia is a decent readI don’t know much about him. Got any examples?

I’ll leave him to speak for himself but that’s not how I read it. Not everything is as black and white as choose a side.I think others get annoyed by him due to the way he sides more on the pro Russian side also not anti war admitted he would have a different opinion if it wasn’t Russia, I’ve no problem comrade cow but he can’t disguise where he stands on this.
Spot on.The pride of the broadcasting world.
Yet some would like to defund it…
Re Abromavich, “ All victims of war in Ukraine “ will this include Russians ?
Is he doing this in the hope that sanctions will not be imposed against him ?
Is this a deal his lawyers have offered to our Govt ?
I’m just thinking out loud here.
I note his main yacht Eclipse is currently in the Carribean.
I’d bump it up the listOn my to read list
Give me something he’s done in brief that backs up what you’re saying. As said I know nowt about him so I’ll take your word for it.Misha Glenny’s McMafia is a decent read
I know it was never about the economy for Putin, but Russia is taking a financial beating.

That’s a difference of opinion mate and fair enough invaders killing children is black and white in my eyes I hope and pray non of you on here have to witness war first handI’ll leave him to speak for himself but that’s not how I read it. Not everything is as black and white as choose a side.
Read mcmafia if you are interested in the subject. He was part of a group that asset stripped Russia in the years following the breakdown of soviet regime.Give me something he’s done in brief that backs up what you’re saying. As said I know nowt about him so I’ll take your word for it.
Abramovich is hardly a random Russian. He's been intimately connected with Putin for decades. To be fair - if there’s no evidence that he’s supporting Putin or the war, he’s publicly acknowledging that it is a war, and he’s donating all this money to the victims, then I don’t think he deserves to be sanctioned.
We can’t just start sanctioning people because they are Russian. There has to be some evidence of/connection to wrongdoing. In calling it a war he’s already undermining Putin - Russia refuses to val it that and has banned its internal media from using the term.
