Former corrupt Ukrainian president and Putin puppet Yanukovych is apparently in Minsk. The theory is that he would be reinstalled as president once Zelenskyy is murdered. He was ousted during the revolution in 2014, which Putin claimed nullified the Budapest Memorandum (where Ukraine gave up their nukes with guarantees of protection from invasion by Russia) as “the government that signed the agreement is no longer in power”. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes back in Ukraine, the people despise him.

I thought I saw somewhere that he'd signed up with the Ukrainian militia or am I thinking of someone else (definitely not thinking of Klitschko)

Loads of people want security and identity, a sense of belonging and protection. They want their own status preserved. If that means autocratic government then thats OK by them

We have people like that in the UK - you an show them that the Brexit vote was rigged, that Russia influenced it illegally, that the Government handed over billions to their mates during Covid, and the Ministers took shit loads of cash from Russian oligarchs

They don't care. What they want is identity and security. They will turn a blind eye to the rest

You do know that Leningrad and Stalingrad are in modern day Russia?

And they saw some of the worst fighting? Leningrad suffered more casualties than the US and UK added together?

ISIS emerged from the rebel forces. But we never had troops on the ground. Had we gone in we could have taken down Assad and then squashed ISIS.

I’m aware of it. Annoys me when it’s brushed out, especially when it’s the press in the uk. I’ve just finished reading about the deportation of the Chechen people after during/after ww2. As you say, brutal.
